A couple of times in the past week or so I have seen posts by new people asking questions about bad beats or super six etc which has been covered on numerous occasions we know.

But to post a yawn, tell them they are boring and ridicule their spelling / punctuation is not right.

This is meant to be a community that welcomes and helps new people and the above will put people right off.

So give them a break please

    In absolute agreement. If you know of where the answer is already located then it would be more helpful to just prompt them in the right direction. We need to remeber that there will always be traffic increasing through the forum and people are not going to back track through months of posts just to see if somebody may have posted a similar question

    Hi torry,

    the subject of bad beats always turns into a "the site is fixed" row. To be honest with you it is boring. If you know how to play the game i don't see where all the questions come from, as if you know the game you it is statistically possible to be beaten by just about any two hole cards. I made a point last week, that just because you have AA KK in the hole it does not mean you have a divine right to win! it's the best 5 card hand that wins. if people cannot grasp that concept they really should stick to snap, or they will end up 1 of two ways ;

    1. turning into a gambler as they will always be chasing to get their money back

    2. having a nervous breakdown and stress

    The one thing i do, is apologize to the people who suffer a bad beat from me, which i think you can testify too as i know it's not nice and feel that it only right an proper to apologize. But i think they call that sportsmanship i believe an having been on the end of a bad beat, when someone has apologized to me it makes a bitter pill a lot easier to swallow :)

    From a personal point of view, if you feel i have over stepped the mark at all in relation to your post, then i personally apologize to you as i respect you and how you play your cards. Having said that my opinion on all the moaners and whingers that suffer bad beats should not happen or that sky poker is fixed i will stand my corner wether it be a newbie or tikay!!!

    Poker is supposed to be fun and wether they like it or not bad beats happen and thats my opinion, to the people that think sky poker is fixed i say go see a doctor or play on another site as it is obviously not making them happy and when playing poker i seriously seriously believe you should do so with a smile on your face ;)

    I don't apologise for a bad beat for 2 reasons

    1) you pays your money you takes your chance - as you've said we all know these are just part of the game and

    2) Im being hypocrytical If i say sorry as im actually chuffed to have won

    I'm not cold hearted though, i will say something like "oohh that was unlucky" or "you were miles ahead there i just got some luck at the right time" i just don't say sorry :)

    please remember everyone here started as a 'newbee' unsure of where to go what to ask etc.

    the best way for this community to grow and get better is to help others and answer questions... no matter how trivial they may seem.

    with you on that rich! the only thing i personally find offensive are these posts that the sky poker is fixed! i just find these posts shumerical at best and cannot help but have a pop as it is just abhorent to think the site is fixed! and bad beats is just laughable, i am a newbie and to poker too it's not rocket science is it? ;)

    if i get very lucky in a hand i do apologise to the other player. Sure, I am glad I won the hand and wouldnt want to change the outcome, so strictly speaking I am not sorry, but I dont think typing "sorry" is hypocritical.

    I think most players on here understand that when someone says sorry after dishing out a bad beat, they are really saying "unlucky, i was way behind and got lucky" but the word sorry is a pretty economic way of doing so.

    I dont think the use of the word sorry should be taken quite so literally.

    And just to touch on what torrylad said in starting this thread...

    We certainly should be tolerant of threads/posts that have been covered previously.  We can all read the title of a thread and decide if we want to look at it or not. 

    The only slight issue with duplicate threads is that other topics are lost from the top page and can be overlooked, but this is a minor point and new posters should be pointed in the right direction rather than criticised.

    Hi everyone, havent read all the posts on this topic but  im for abusing Orford lol.
    As for everyone else, poker should be enjoyed without abuse, either at the table or in the forum.
    Im new to the forum so will be looking around before posting, incase things have already been asked, but im sure most people wont mind helping newbies out by answering again to previously  discussed items.
    See you at the tables.
    P.S., came third on sunday in the 1k guarenteed @ 9pm. Had i thought about my hand that i went out on im sure i wouldve won the heads up. But im still learning and as long as i remember my mistakes im going to be winning soon. :)

    i know where you are coming from but as long as we are offering a poker service some will say how we are rigged, fixed etc. all we can do is shuffle them over to area 51.
