It varies I think, Rob. It's "x hands", I think about 12 or 14 hands, but don't quote me on that. It is definitely "x hands" rather than time, or "x orbits".

This has been changed, it is now FIFTEEN hands.

    Why?

Many of the regular grinders found that on long sessions, if they needed a quick convenience break, or go make a cup of tea, found themselves "thrown off" the Table mid-session, & their Seat gets taken by next on the Waiting List.

There are pros & cons to this, & it needed careful thought, but on balance, it is believed to be the correct decision.

I think the main differences here (Which is where I have a minor gripe) is : Players who are genuinely away having a break/Making Tea/Answering the door etc. which I have done myself on more than one occasion and the other players who have lost all of their stack and closed the table without any intention of re-loading.

The table then becomes 5 handed even though more often than not, players are waiting to join. I have even waited to join a table myself and seeing an away player with a zero stack and having to wait 15 orbits before I can join is somewhat frustrating.

If there was anyway of differentiating between these two types of away players and addressing the issue, then that is where I would want to focus some of my attention.

But all said and done, I still appreciate why it is the way it is, but if we don't highlight our concerns, then the problems may never be addressed so I hope this helps.

I think in this case the stacked players are just closing the table with the "X" top right which does close the table but does not register as a stand action so stay seated. You would not what to close the table for any other reason than to stand surely linking the "X" to the stand button should be easy?
