I read some funny stories on here today by i think elsadog & margatemaf involving giant haystacks and a bloke from tesco.Told brother to have a look and now can't find them?No drink had been drunk am i wrong?

yes that's right. if topics are started in the wrong area they will be moved. hopefully we'll reach a state in the future where each area of the forum is used how it should be and users know where to go to talk about specific topics.

Rich is right, threads regularly appear on the general poker chat section that either have nothing to do with poker, or are strategy based questions which should be in the strategy section.

I think their is a tendency to place threads in the general section as it is the most widely read, and therefore will get more attention than the other sections.
