will the table be updated throughout the month and if so how often?

So, Play the Nation is here! We've set up a special part of the forum for the teams to discuss tactics, report back on their exploits at the tables and rally the troops. We hope you enjoy it!

It is a forum section with a difference though. To prevent the number of threads swamping the boards, we've set up some official threads for each of the teams, as well as a general banter thread too. New conversations can't be started unless it's by a Moderator or Sky staff. If you have an idea for a thread you'd like to see give us a shout on this thread!

Oh, and for those wanting to know how to score points for your region, you want to do ANY of these three things to be chipping in (oh dear, that was a terrible pun)....

** Win a raked Cash Hand

** Cash in a Tourney

** Cash in a Sit & Go.

Yes it will. It will *probably* be updated on a daily basis, although it might be a case of the updates over the weekend waiting until a Monday morning. Looking to do it every day though.

In theory the team sizes are liable to continue growing throughout the promotion, zzr. We're always going to look at the average scores for the regions though, so there shouldn't be any advantage if you're from one of the bigger regions numerically.

It's been done by postcodes rather than counties, Trippy.

We had a think about this, FF. One thing we did think was how did you want to judge it? It tends to favour the high volume or high stakes players more than others in most of the models I could personally think of, but if you've got any suggestions and our reporting can support it, it's something we could consider for future editions of PTN.

Hi jh16,

Basically we give 10 points to first and 1 to last in each of the three sections. So if you were top in Cash (10 points), last in Sit and Gos (1pt) and third in MTTs (8pts), you'd have 19 overall.

The stats will be the rolling average for February, too. So the next set of results published on the site will include play up to midnight on 2nd Feb and will be the average of the 1-2 Feb. Make sense? Don't worry too much if not, I am more than happy to field any other questions you might have

Hmm yeah difficult 1 to make it fair for everyone...

MTT + STT you could have amount of points earned divided by games played with a minimum of say 15 games played, so you are being rewarded for winning a better % rather than just playing a lot.

Cash would be very hard to do without massivley favouring the grinders... but then again the grinders will be the people who make the most points for the team so maybe they should win it? Cash could be total hands won with every blind level being the same value, so 2p/4p hands are worth just as much as £1.50 / £3 pots? This will still favour people who play a lot of tables, but still gives people who grind 4nl a chance of still winning.

There can be a winner for each region and each section (so 30 MVPs unless that's too much for Sky to give prizes too)

Just to let you know, the Play the Nation scores will be updated on Monday.

Phil12uk - I will ask about the players list for you on Monday, however, with more players entering every day, this might be quite difficult. As for the table on here as well, that's a tough task! How about you post a link to the table along with each post?

It's all of the players who have registered, Kev. Even if they don't make the 500 poker points, they're still contributing to their region's success.... or otherwise.

I havent got a clue how this is worked out but it does seem stacked in favour of anyone but London.
