Happy hours are difficult to legislate for sngs and mtts, if you start a sng with 2 mins of the happy hour to go should it qualify for the 50% uplift when its likely to finish well outside the hour.

Sky have extended the promo to micro stakes as well now, so it might not be a bad time to migrate to cash, because lets face it thats where the real money is.

If you play the 8pm Nightly Main Event, Sky Poker will not just add 50% extra points, they will pay more than 100% extra in some cases.

Normally, in Tournaments, you get 10 points for every £1 in reg fees.

    If you play the 7 Main Events, Monday to Sunday inclusive, these have aggregate Reg Fees of £18 (£3 + £2 + £2 + £3 + £1 + £2 + £5), & so you'd normally get 180 C4P.

In fact, you would get 510 C4P.

     Monday, £30 + £3, Points 60
    Tuesday, £20 + £2, Points 50
    Wednesday,£20 + £2, Points 50
    Thursday, £30 + £3, Points 100
    Friday, £10 + £1, Points 25
    Saturday, £20 + £2, Points 50
    Sunday, £50 + £5, Points 175

TOTAL POINTS 510, instead of 180, being a bonus of 330 Points - rather more than 50%!

Tournament players also benefit from numerous benefits which are not available to Cash Players - the Jackpot, for example (which is a a pure "bonus"), overlay from time to time (hopefully not too often....), daily Freerolls, added value such as UKOPS Bracelets, Rake-Free Tourneys (SURVIVOR).

Sky Poker TRY to be fair to ALL players, but it could be argued that some added value for the Cadh players is long overdue - after all, cash play is the largest segment of players on the Site - by a VERY long way, so they deserve to be looked after, too.

i think a few dym games could be a one off rebuy boost the prizepool and also i think there would be quite a few players from cash and tournis giving this format a try with the prizepool getting quite big
  • edited February 2012
Surely cash players pay more in rake than STT and MTT players so why not reward them more.

  • edited February 2012
why would anyone rebuy in a DYM?  what?

Then they just say, every DYM that starts within the hour, or every DYM that finishes within the hour,  gets 50 percent bonus.  It's not rocket science.

You cant do SNG happy hour because it wouldnt really work the same as cash, as i suggested above SNG week :)

cant really think of anymore other then play the presenter sit n gos or bringing in private sit n gos... 'scratches head'

Double points week.   Treble points Tuesdays.  Rake free weekend.   Win "x" amount in a row and win ... X ..

Anything ...  that will get SitnGo games more popular. !

Maybe even a new SitnGo format,  e.g 12 players.  Top 4 get paid.

    Good ideas there mate!

I have promoted countless times on this forum for 18 seater SNG to come back, Scary or normal im pretty sure they would be good. but obviously not as a promotion would need something like double points for week or the others suggestions as above

as an extra point the most fun i've had playing poker online recently have been on another site:

they have turbo 180man tourneys/ 90/45/18 , although we probably wouldnt get 180 going im sure 45 or 18 would become popular if they were speed or even hyper 2 mins blinds. I gurantee ppl will love them

You mean that site up in the sky YG, totally agree, ive played some of the 45 man turbo ones. If you can get enough people multitabling them like dyms then it stands a chance on sky. Anything bigger and there wont be enough take up to get em going.

They are much more skillfull than dyms imo and can only be good for the site. Only prob with 45 you have to play 9 max i guess 42 or 48 is poss 6 max.

No the other Major site and main one which is still going, u may have done a good cash other week on it too :P

good point, didnt think of 6 handed side of it. would also make it much more enjoyable aswell!

Start with 18 speed, then if they are popular add a 36 and so on. 1TIME! :D

That other site has a player base in the hundred thousands, any kind of s'n'g/tourney would be popular there. This site doesn't have the player base for 40+ man s'n'gs that would start ~ every 5 mins. If you can't even get normal 10 seaters to be playing regularly what makes you think 42/48 mans will?

Because they are slow and 10 handed...

if you put a 18 one with 5mins blinds or less put in speed i reckon would fill up within 5 mins once everyones been informed of it

TBH sky now has more than 5k online every evening. 18 24 and 30 man would work 6 max with 5 min blinds. Sky could start with 5.50, 11 and 22 buyins and see if it catches on like the hypers. DYMs are boring sorry, high return for low outlay is the way to go imo on sngs.

    +1 never gonna work.

There's 1 £5 mtt during the day with 200gtd (40 runners expected) & often there is overlay.

Skys sngs are good other than maybe the structure of the scarys which are too slow early, and too fast late. A more balanced blind structure wud be beneficial.
