Advice needed on early phase aggression?

Can anyone give me some advice, how comes when im considering myself to be playing bad i go deep and final table but when i play proply and in my own oppinion good i seem to either fall short of the cash bubble or just get into it and go out soon? I played horendous in a tourney in the early hours last nite due to tiredness and a lack of effort but i found myself with over 35k chips when the average was around 8k closest player to me was 15k? I see it more and more now players play like maniacs early phase and tighten up middle even though this goes against most pheorys is this the new online tactic??

It can work if you get a lucky in a flip - lots of freerollers play this way. then with the stack you can keep the aggression up.
