David Haye Vs Nikolai Valuev Whats your thoughts.................

Hope people are excited as i am about the upcoming 'David and Goliath' match as i am.

I am ing-lish but would like Valuev to knock the cheeky chap about a bit myself.

Hope its all its being built up to be and we almost go the distance, always better with a knockout or stoppage methinks.

If somebody already started this thread/discussion i missed it and for thath i suck and am lazy for not going past page 1 of the shed.

How long is going to last? Where is your money? and am i a disgrace getting behind the Russian?

i agree with you on this one. i'm not a massive boxing fan but this fight has really caught my attention. i can't possibly imagine how anyone could beat someone so bloody massive so i'm siding with as i see it the underdog - David!

i would like to see hayes win but i think valuev is too big and strong for him,i would be surprised if it lasts 5 rounds

I fail to see how it will be anything other than boring.
Holyfield struggled against Valuev and he's a much bigger puncher.
The Russian will cuddle, maul and lean all over Haye until the wee fella is exhausted, then knock him out cleanly no later than round 8.
Even if it does go the distance, we all know how the Germans score British fighters.
Haye is the bookies favourite, absurd, he's too big for cruiser, but too little for this fight.

Wager on Valuev all the way, it's christmas come early.

Same here. To be honest I hadn't even heard of David Haye before the publicity around this match!

Seems like real life Rocky IV to me. If Haye wins he'll have to do the "If I can change... you can change... EVERYONE can change!" speech :-D

Pure class, I'm almost wetting myself waiting for that new expendables film due out around April next year.

Round 9 and only about 10 punch's landed in the whole fight,,haye running away,,the other fella chasing,,,the judges have no option but to go for the big fella at the moment.

Valuev was almost gone in the 12th, Haye a deserved winner, Valuev's reaction at the end showed he knew he was beat.

I don't know what's worse, paying to watch that drivel or losing the bet!

Almost impossible to score when only 2 punches are landing in some rounds, but I had it level after round 11, well done Haye, hope he reigns for a few years.

Thanks to Brook for the Conduit tip or it would have been a complete betting disaster of a night.

Being a massive boxing fan and also a former amateur boxer, i would like to congratulate David Haye on becoming a new world champion!! i thought he fought the right fight and did what he needed to do, especially as he had hurt his right hand from round 2 onwards! his power hand!! if he had not hurt his hand i think he would of taken him out for sure! i think Haye is a very underatted fighter who will now command the respect he deserves. Now i think he will go on to unify the division if two klitchko brothers don't think of excuses to avoid him.

The one thing i don't agree with was something i saw on sky sports this morning, Hayes sparring partner saying he made valuev look stupid! not a good thing to say, he was  not a world champion for nothing. Sure his size is an advantage but even holyfield struggled against him. Anyone who has the bottle to step into a ring and fight should not be dis-respected like that. Haye just got his tactics spot on!
