Can I EVER get away from these?

edited February 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Had a couple of these recently but this one is blind on blind. There's so many other 8x hands or overpairs he can have here isn't there. Taken some heavy losses so far this week and I'm starting to doubt everything I do!!

This one I don't really like the turn but fall in love my rivered set. It's a nitty check call though I spose..
I don't reraise pre as I'm trying to trap AJ who would normally continue bet post flop. No more trapping with people left to act and priced in anymore methinks.

    Hand 1. UL

Hand2. Don’t get tricky multi way, bet flop

Yeah trapping is overrated. I should have learned that by watching Hellmuth spew off tens of thousands on various poker shows over the years.

Such a good spot to make it 6 quid with the kings!

Hand 1: opponent makes a good bet, cooler mostly.

Hand 2: really hate flatting K'sfrom the SB multi-way.  Understand why as it seems like action table, but once we do this, and give the free card I think I'm playing for a smaller pot, obv river is a killer though.  But I still think I'm in c/c mode as played.  Board disguises itself on river tho if you know what I mean, easy to say after the fact, but river can easily blindside us in hand, if you catch my drift.

    1. bet flop, bet turn as played cooler

2I dont hate the flat pre, depends on table dynamic whether I flat or 4bet. I just lead flop 4way, rest is just unlucky

hand 1 not much u can do dont think its a call on hes all in hand 2 why are u not betting the flop by checking u let some 1 hit there gutshot

Yeah I'm waiting for someone else to bet the flop before I come over the top. I just get this so wrong on both streets, thinking I'm being cunning when I'm just hanging myself. The King on the river is just the Poker Gods punishing me for trying to be cute.

hand 1, I am very tight in the smb, esp after finding out (pokertracker) that playing even only a small percentage of hands there is a leak, nevertheless its a cooler, when the villain shoves the turn, his hand is very polarised. Reads could help you fold here, as the villain is dying to tell you of what he has.

hand 2, I don't play tricky on the smb(reasons i mentioned above). As played checking that flop is bad imo (FWIW you could check a dry board?). Leading out is better, me-thinks, purely for the reason its multi-way, v wet board, and that you could get value from many drawing or weak made hands. As played impossible to fold the river.
