UNLUCKY M8 WOULD LOVE TO HERE STACKS REASON FOR CALLING TWO RAISES (1/6 OF HIE STACK) WITH 52 SUITED SPENT 10 MINS AND STILL CANT WORK IT OUT

why did you 3bet so small pre?

why didn't you smash it in flop?  ofc its hard to see what hands they have that have a 5/2 draw in them, maybe you want Coxy to hit something....
  • edited November 2009
£2 to £6 pre flop raise only £4 to call for the 2 ppl that put in £2. They will call that all day long I think. 52 suited wanted to see a flop and hit it hard, which he did.

Only issue is your pre flop raise, would a bigger raise have dropped the 52 caller and led you heads up against a more traditional strong hand of Coxy'.

So yes, only issue would be the pre flop raise, was it enough to price out the and draw seekers/set miners....

p.s. the pot was £15 by the time stacks45 has to make his pre flop call. He prob felt priced in and could stack one of you if not both if he hits massively.

i completely agree about the 3bet size. He was calling no matter what tho. Checking the flop is pretty standard, Its not like theres any draws to worry about. I dont really include many 5's or 2's in my opponents range and theres practically nothing i can get value from so would prefer to let Coxy bet. It also balances my range for when i have JJ-KK

i was surprised coxylbro didnt av the 5 2, he was running so hot last night, he couldnt miss a flop.
Any1 callin 3bet with 5 2 is a bad losing player. the size of the 3bet was fine and we all no coxy was always gonna call

    Thats pretty ul.

At least you titled it `bad beat thread` and not
`could I have got away from this and picked a better spot as did I really need to be involved`.......

the old story the villian was not good enough to lay down aa or  1 pair at this point even tho your betting tells them way behind.....unlucky
  • edited November 2009
Hand 1: Not a bad beat, you just butchered it by raising so small preflop 3 way. 3bet his hand 4x original raise +1x for each caller. Even if you get no action you've won with 1pair (+EV).
  • edited November 2009
First was too small a raise, should be looking at 4x or 5x the raise to rid of these smaller hands.
Second was very unlucky, lad with AA didn't really know he was behind so although your bets was good he was too stiff to let his AA go.

I was on the table when this hand happened.

Stacks was calling literally anything and this wasn't the only beat he stuck on players in this game, with offshoot receiving the two worst ones!

I seem to recall one with 93 of diamonds also.
