what is this guy betting for? are my raises too low, i mean he has nothing at all bar ace high but calls it any way

i hit top pair and a str8, he has nought, no draws only 1 over card. i then hit top pair with a str8 and a flush draw, he has flush draw and 1 over card, and we both hit draw, but for some reason beyond my thinking he has chased either a runner runner or an ace with a 3 kicker.

It seems very typical of sky that when you flop a monster, it seldom holds up no matter what bets you put in.

you flopped a monster, correctly raised, and followed up well on the turn (maybe slightly more would of made him lay it down), but you still have the nuts on the turn so really u dont want him to lay it down and judging by his call with ace-high on the flop, i doubt he wood anyway.

the thing i dont understand is why he rivered the nuts and only flat called??? surely the point in chasing his flush was to get your whole stack and he never even achieved that.

With hands like 9-10 suited UTG if you want to play them, IMO you have to raise PF 3x probably here. Personally I would just fold here. Its a nice hand but out of position against limpers behind its tough to play and its a hand you are almost never going to win if you miss the flop. You limped. The problem with this is that there are a lot of players who could raise a lot of hands like A8, K-10, even hands like Q-10, J-10 or possibly any small pair which you aren't in great shape against but with your raising they probably would flat behind you. when we are the aggressor we may be able to take some of these pots down when we miss and we are investing 3 big blinds to see the flop with the betting momentum. If you call and then call a raise, you are calling the same amount, but someone in position has momentum and you are check folding a lot of flops here. You are also going to get a lot of flops where you may hit one pair and have no clue where you are in the hand as well, which is a tough spot to be in, particularly when your vs someone who c-bets like 3/4s of the pot to full pot to basically kill all the draws and if they don't have it, essentially give up thinking that you must have connected with the board. Raise UTG and likely its only hands like Aj upwards or the stronger pairs that likely would reraise you, although you shouldn't dwell on this thought; at the higher levels you can be 3bet by people who have position on you with any cards if they see it as the right spot.

On the flop it gets unlucky from there. You put the reraise in and with him having just ace high facing a reraise, he has to just put the hand down here as he can't even be sure if he has any pair outs.

On the turn as we tend to assume that each out constitutes as 2% equity roughly (less a small bit) then in his view he has 9 wins which is 18%. You bet 320 into 640 here. That means he is calling 320 to win 960 which isn't the right price for him to draw out on his flush on the turn. When you bet this, you couldn't put him on a flush draw but something like JQ, Jk etc. Its not a bad bet for these hands, the leader isn't going to change so you have to think you are safe here.

The river is just disgusting. Not sure if it will console you as you lost 1100 of your 1900 stack, but he must have misread his hand or something to have not pushed all in here. That was slightly fortunate, although overall it was unlucky
