In Response to Re: SPT Manchester 2009-10: Leg 1 Manchester. Live Update and Competition : Is this going to be another update full of stereotype comments ? I do hope so. Good luck to the Sky Team today and especially Tighty. Hope it goes well. Good luck to everyone playing, especially any of the APAT guys, but you are all going to have to beat Ger 'The Duke' Smyth , who will be dealt his winning hand 1:53am . He will probably be slightly drunk, but it will make for the best winners interview ever seen on SkyPoker. Posted by Fortunatus
Spoke to him this morning. He's not drinking at all today as he has to drive to and fro. He intends to take this tourney very serious. With that in mind, I'll choose him as winner too, but go for a finish time of 1:30am. Beware the sober Duke!
Howdy folks and welcome to to the North West and the first leg of the second Sky Poker Tour. There's a good deal of excited banter from the players who have arrived early to register for today's event. Seen in the venue, Tikay; looking very smart in blazer, shirt and tie combo, Rich Orford, Ed Giddens, tour manager SPT Rich and mother hen Claire, clucking around the TV techies. More as we get it....

Good luck with the updates Tighty.
Is there going to be much/any coverage of this on 865 at all?
good luck everybody!!
Final hand the mighty 8,7
Ed Giddens @1.45 am
either way good luck
Table 1 has Richard Orford on it, so in a sense the other nine on his table, easy chips in prospect, are already winners
Richard Orford still in.
Yetisnow check-called the flop, check called the turn, An Ace, and led the 3 river for 1250.
When his final opponent passed he flipped 8-8 for the flopped set.
Just ask
hows dennis taylor doing? i didnt back him but no some who have
Kenny Sansom limps
Pieman makes it 250
Called by Small blind SeaSeaBea
Called by both limpers
flop 3h-Jh-2c
SeaSeaBea bets 400, Midgi folds, Sansom raises to 1,000
Pieman folds with a grimace worthy of gurning competition
SeaSeaBea calls
turn 9c check, check
river 5d, SeaSeaBea bets 1,400, Kenny Sansom folds..eventually
let us know how his chips are looking and a photo post would be good for his ego..will keep up to date all day with interest.
Hope you all have a good day
End of the first level, no one out yet!
Dennis Taylor 3,575 of his 5,000 starting stack
Before the start tikay recounted the tale of of Dennis' 1985 World Championship win, the room was spellbound and Dennis received a nice ovation
Christian Garvin flopped top set with 10-10 on a 10-9-8 two diamond board
Michael Hadfield has Q-7 diamonds
Giving him flush and straight draw
The turn brough the flush, the river didn't bring the house and Christian departs
