the short stories could be fun as i like telling them, normally from my own experience so with luck i`l get one that is true to my life,

i also enjoyed the caption too so i vote for both

I like the new idea. I hope the prize stays the same or if not, a tournament token is awarded so folk can chose when they would like to play rather than a designated tournament. This would possibly generate more entries.

Seldom entered the caption contest the story is a lot better especially you having to link them up and I think 3 photos is fine.

Both seems sensible. My fear for a short story competition is that there will quickly become a small core of winners who have a flair for writing, and a sense of humour.

one question, does the short stories have to be in order of photo`s top - middle - last or can you do say last - top - middle and so on ?

 From how I read it as long as you included all 3 pics in your short story in someway it does not matter which order you involve them in your story!

Yes, you can tell the story with the photos in any order, it's up to you!

My brain hurts trying to write a short story!

It does require a skill I don't possess!

But if you want to find a balance that might suit everyone

why not have a short story comp the last Friday of each month (15k BH prize)
using the previous comp photos (6k rebuy Open prize) that month as the ingredients for the short story?

Hi Sam  Great Idea but think you would need to run the Story Competition separate from the Caption Competition judging by the number of replies so far.  The Caption Competition is by far the most popular as most players enter it.  
There were some great Story Tellers on the forum in the past years like Bennydip, Oynutter, Dazler, and the Daddy of them all "FlutNush" who would win it every week if he entered.   He had a way with words that danced in you mind.    Where is he by the way.?  anyone know.!

id do a short stories comp. only issue is when i start to right a short story i right a short novel
