Is anyone else fed up with this endless debate about two footed tackles?
I can recall the likes of Pearce, Vinnie & Paul McGrath who wouldnt last 10 minutes in the modern game, yet their exploits are regarded with more than a hint of nostalgia. 'When football was a man's game!!' It just goes to show the hypocracy of the namby pamby fans who whinge and wine about dangerous tackles and then in the next breath bleet about how 'football is becoming a non-contact sport!' Lets allow a couple of two footed tackles before any cards are brandished so that 'the reducer' can be re-introduced.
The only area in which the rules have improved in recent years is by the introduction of the coach's 'technical area'. I would like to see video technology to be introduced to monitor transgressions of the technical area, but not for anything else.
Cheers now

Don't think it'd be a good idea though. Just look at the amount of career ending injuries 50 years ago compared to today. The problem isn't with the laws about tackling, it's people rolling about on the floor like little girls when they've not been tackled that's the bigger problem. Stop people from diving, feigning injury, waving imaginary cards at the referee, and all that cr ap, and the game will be much better for it
