Cheers buddy, May load up a mix of £1 and £2 tables later and see how it goes.
Had a mixed day yesterday, won 4 lost 3 in the short time i had.
I know the feeling about loading up wrong tables. When i first joined the site i loaded up a Omaha table and wondered why i got dealt 5 cards ! haha still managed to cash though! :-) Mick
Hi Devon Got your message thanks but don't seem to have a message box to reply. Only get the subject box where i can type! Any ideas? Cheers Mick Posted by VespaPX
Thinking of trying the DYMs myself , just a couple quick questions, do u play at the 1.15 and 2.25 6 handed games ? Over the volume you play doesnt the rake hit hard ? Would it not be better in the 3.30s or as you say is your main objective at least for now, to avoid the £6 swings that a 3.30 would give you. I admire your determination mate !
@Oopnorth - Yep the rake below the £3.30's is pretty awful and for that reason you want to avoid it at all costs, however if your roll is less than say £80-90 it can be very high variance to try the £3 level as you can drop a chunk of money quite quickly playing perfect poker.
For me I wouldn't start any lower than the £2.25 level and as a starting roll of £50 should see you fine.
hi Oopnorth, re trying dym,s yourself, good luck. i was playing @ £3.30 b4 i withdrew £400 to treat myself to a new pc a couple of weeks ago. my b/roll then dropped to £90, so i purposely dropped down to the £1.15 & £2.25 levels. as i had played these levels b4 i moved up to £3.30, and won there, admittedly i only played a few sessions. yes, the rake is higher but then again the levels are that bit easier so i think that compensates 4 it,imo. the rake is also only a factor when you lose anyway, so as long as you can win each or at least most sessions, the rake is not a problem.
so, example, from my £90 new b/roll, playing @ £1.15 and £2.25 levels i got b/roll up to £190(inc feb c4P) in a weeks play. i then made the mistake of withdrawing another £100 leaving me with £90 again. playing that same evening, after withdrawing, i then got hammered and lost £28.70 my only loss so far playing £1.15 & £2.25.(thanks sky!!!)
had i been playing @ £3.30, how much more i would have lost!!! so depending on your b/roll, i would say you need to be able to lose at least 10 buy-ins for that level,so min £20,4 £2.25 level and not lose any sleep over it!!!
also,i would add that the more tables you can play the better, as anything under 6 imo,is a struggle. as a good number of dym,s will come down to a flip,50/50 the more you play and the more that you can cash in,b4 a flip, obviously the better. i am playing 9 atm, but have just been adding the 10th &11th tables. my aim is to play 18/20 in time!!!
another thing you should consider, the levels do get tougher the higher you go, arguably? well the losses certainly will. and even with the lower levels having a higher rake, you still need to be winning at whatever level you play, b4 moving up. a good guide i use is trying to win 2 out of 3 games. if u can do that u will beat any level!!!
hope some of this may be of some use. probably see you at those tables. good luck mate... :-) devon
ps, have you read; "ABC of DYM,s by john connor"? it is a great read 4 playing dym,s, you can find it in general poker chat section, somewhere? it was 1st posted on 15 /9 /2011 good luck

Great diary Dev,
I also grind the DYM's but can only currently 6 table due to playing on a 4yr old 15.5" Dell laptop.
So I'm going to get a new desktop soon aswell - do you manage to fit all 12 tables on just one screen? Or do you have two monitors? If so, which do you have?
Don't worry too much about your downswing, I'm on a big one atm & it's all part of the fun - looks like you've got a great win rate overall and getting to £3.30 level will be even better4u because of that reduced rake so best of luck with it.
hi Priyesh, thanks mate. i do have 2 monitors,a 23" & 27". i am atm playing 12 tables on the 27" in mini-view, i can easily fit 3 along top & middle rows then i over lap the middle 3 slightly with the bottom row of tables. it takes a little getting used to, but it really isn,t a problem at all. i use the 23" for the lobby and loading of tables so this then doesn,t interfear with playing oh, that,s just the 9 tables, isn,t it,sorry. to play 12,u need to add another to each row.(4 acrossx3 down) again there is an overlap, but again i soon got used to it. i believe that the new smaller size tables are supposidly on their way soon, so hopefully should make things a little easier.
you could with 2 monitors play 6 tables on each, which i have done,in the past. but being 2 diferent size monitors isn,t ideal.
i have only just bought this pc i am on now, a couple of weeks ago, it is great,an i7 so very powerfull. all the details,if u r interested you can find in one of my earlier posts, (in general poker chat,go to page 12(atm)under "trying 2 cash @ nl4",on page 10.) i think just about any monitor will do, but i would go as big as u can afford,

Ok cool - I was thinking of getting 2 x 22/24" monitors so will prob do that.
I don't think Sky are going to bring smaller tables, just re-sizeable ones? i could be wrong about this.
I will try2get a new system by next month if I can - would be great to 12 table!

lol, wut ???? :S
--------------------------------------
The mini view option will still be there apparently........
I got a new PC 16 months ago, with a big monitor that can fit 12 mini view tables on witht he tinyest bit of overlap, like literally a centremetre.......
No need for 2 monitors imo.....
Ask Machka/Acidman for advice on a new PC, very happy with mine, cost £450ish I think, less than a good laptop.
how will re-sizable tables change things? does it mean you can choose the table size? and if so will you be able to make them any smaller than they already are now in mini-view? :-) devon
That's what I thought - tables u can re-size but current mini-view being the smallest they go - can they go even smaller? Great if they could.
Doh - yeah i think I got given some advice in a thread I made a few months ago but then I had to put my new PC plans on hold - will try and find that one also.

I dunno how this wud work for dyms, but have u thought of layering/cascading your tables?
U cud maybe have 2 stacks of tables, like, early stages on the left, late stages/bubble on the right, which will both auto focus when the action is on you....
Most of your decisions in dyms are theoretical, and don't rely on reads etc.
When the auto top up comes in I'll deffo be doing this for cash, despite having loads of room to tile.
hi DOHHHHHH, not tried layering or cascading myself, i,ll give them both a try. as it stands playing as i do just loading tables as normal, does seem to work well,as when you have played your move on a table the one that was underlayed then moves on top to play on. not sure if i can play any more than 12 on 1 screen, or if i would need to use 2.
not running well, don,t think the extra tables are helping either atm. well not tonight anyway.
lost £8.95 b/roll £60.78 c4p 1302
still, got to keep going.... not going to let it get me down. i enjoy it when i,m winning, so i.ll take it on the chin after losing!!
i may have to have a re-think playing more than 9 tables atm, as it is also probably not helping my game atm. may have to drop back 4 a night or 2 and see if this helps!!!
no worries anyway, i,m still happy,it,s still very early days with all the changes i am making.
night off tomorrow as i am going out, so plenty of time 4 that think...lol
hi jingle, well done on ordering your new pc, exciting isn,t it!!! i,m sure u will luv the 27" monitor, i know i do mine. let me know how u get on with it,please.
since my last up-date,13th march, played a six table cash session @2p/4p, lost £21.90. so not too happy about that, but to be fair to myself.... i did suffer some really bad,bad beats, so it wasn,t just me playing bad, anyway, that,s history now,so move on. not really been playing very much to be honest., as i know i am on a down-swing, so i think less is probably more atm. played some £1.15 & 60p dym,s day b4 y/day, came out level, so better than losing,i guess. still very happy with new pc, it loads everything up so much faster than the old one. just about getting to grips playing up to 12 tables now, playing just 9 now seems so much easier, so even though i,m not making any great strides forward atm, i do believe the benefits are hopefully just around the corner. well that,s what i,m telling myself anyway...lol
b/roll atm, £32.25 so having to be very disciplined. c4points is £15.56 atm so trying to hang on really until that kicks in, and will hopefully be able to start climbing again.
