A quick question for Neil....(plus a easier one for you to read Rich to 'fill' time)...

I think any alias ending in 'ally' is great (apart from the one Daiboot calls me!)....Can you give us the story behind yours please.

One for Richard....why is your surname Bacon?

    Have a great show guys.

Hello rich stuart and jakally my question is a basic 1 really what is the difference playing live and online i know you get more hands dealt online etc but do u play with the same mindset play the same hands live as if u would online like for example on the button if every 1 folds to u are you going to open the pot with a raise simple things like this i play live twice a weak and i tighten up alot compared to playing online i bluff alot more online compared to live poker i dont lose pateince playing live as i like to interact with people and have some banter and when not playing a hand like to see what the people on my table are playing with just like your views on how you play live compared to only sorry for a long post but hopefully a good 1 question is for stuart and jakally have a great show from steve

Jakally is a legend so will be good to watch!  GL everyone!

The word Legend gets mentioned far to much these days but imo it is fully justifiable as Neil Giblin is just that, a Legend!!

Neil is really well respected within both the online and live poker community and always has time for everyone. You can see him at an Spt talking with anyone willing to fall asleep to his stories and for a guy that is so knowledgeable you would expect him to be awesome at poker, alas that part still fades Neil :)

Really looking forward to the show tonght and hearing the words of wisdom from Neil who due to his age has a vast amount of experience so should be very interesting!

Questions for both Neil and Stuart...

Do you plan on going to Vegas? If yes, will you be crushing the tournaments or cash games? If no, then is there any reason why?

    Have a great show guys!

    EPT Copenhagen

It may take me several years to recover from the six-and-a-half-hour heads-up battle between Mickey and Pierre! Mr Petersen is a worthy champion, although I'm disappointed we didn't see Michael Tureniec go back-to-back (last year's winner finished 11th).

    Regarding the low attendance...

Copenhagen (traditionally) always draws fewer runners than other European Poker Tour events. The idea of visiting a Scandinavian city in winter puts off a lot of punters; the toughness of the field (compared to Deauville, San Remo, etc.) puts off many others.

This year, I think a lot of players were suffering from tournament fatigue (the first six weeks of the year were ridiculously packed). Others may have decided to "save themselves" for the March/April marathon (Madrid, Campione, Berlin, Monte Carlo).

Finally, the event was in direct competition with the WPT LAPC and UKIPT Galway. Quite frankly, there are now too many major poker tournaments. Discuss ;-)

In Response to Re: Tuesday night on the telly with Rich, Stuart and Jakally ***official show thread*** : That's epic mate. Thanks for that. I'll probably have to pick out bits and pieces from it, or at least read it out in stages, but I appreciate the lengths you've gone to there. Small pocket pairs in DYMs- any other thoughts, anyone? Brief, concise thoughts? Lol ;-)

Fold them unless you're being blinded out. Concise enough?

    Mastercash 7
Hand History #485322834 (19:54 28/02/2012)Cannot help but think I didn't maximise my value from the AA in the BB - but worried about giving a free card with 10J on the flop

What could I have done better?

Fantastic analytical hand. My raise is just to try and sneak a few chips. As soon as the re-raise comes in, I'm folding, of course. Only 2 callers give me value. After the flop, I'm ahead of just about anything.
His shove says ACES so large I couldn't wait to get my chips in. Fishing - yes. Good for the chip - balance - certainly.
    TONIGHT'S Open btw

First legit squeeze, flop comes not brilliant. Q is regarding betsizing on turn, do you try and bet more to stop c/raise bluffs?
  • edited February 2012
Hi all i just like to comment on that geldy hand with the aces where he bet £10 on flop question to stu and jakally do u think if pokey2011 had a bigger stack he would of called i think this has a big bearing on this hand calling £10 out of pokey2011 £38 remaining is a mistake where as if he had a full buy in makes it difference in my opinion good show guys

Is it possible that I am always going to be Tourney player? I favour deepstacks followed by Bounty Hunters and really enjoy deeper stacked live games but whenever I venture near cash tables my game doesn't seem to have the same long term sucess. Is it a case of more practise at cash or is my mind set always going to tourney based?
    regards,
    Carl (Mohican)

Missed c/rai on both flop and turn, opitmal line on river to max value from bluffs instead of betting for value?
  • edited February 2012
Having seen the whole hand on TV. I can't believe the AK doesn't re-raise. Then, of course, I'm history. I bet big on the flop in case someone had serious straightening options.

CONTROVERSIAL, BUT WHAT DO THINK OFF GETTING SMALL BLIND, ONCE YOUR B/BLIND DONE YOU MOVE STRAIGHT TO B/BLIND AGAIN ESP AT LATER STAGES OFF TOURNIES, IS THIS FAIR, SOZ IF PUTTING ON SPOT BUT THAT IS ALSO WHAT THE SHOWS ABOUT, ( THREAD BELOW )

    moving table where`s the justice?

    Evening Rich and Team

    Here’s the story!

I've left my pc logged on to sky poker at work and now I'm home I can't open a table because it's open on the office pc.

Annoyingly, technical support cannot log me off remotely.

Trouble is it's already cost me money as I registered for the 8pm when I got in from work, then logged out at home, popped out and when I logged back in it had already opened the table at work.

So whilst I go put the tele on and watch the show in the bath, whoever is on my table, please leave my blinds alone! Maybe I’ll cash without playing.

Another one from tonight's open  485378655
This is one where I try and be sly, and pay for it. Really my shove on the turn is poor. Only being called if I am behind.

    Hand ID 485351447

Hand played on the £2.50/5 Master Cash 20 table a few minutes ago.
I am not in the hand, but interested to hear Neil's thoughts on DerpDerp 3-betting this flop?
Also thoughts on LOL_RAISE willing to get in 200bb on this board, given the action pre, with DerpDerp last to call pre (wide range pre, 3betting flop, leading turn)

Also Andy Hulme would like to ask Jakally his views on getting into raising wars preflop with weak suited jacks? (in relation to a nice badbeat he put on him getting in £400 preflop with J8 suited vs AA)

Genuine story. PLayed a £55.00 entry once. The first hand 3 players were all in on the flop. The 33 took out QQ and AA.
Next hand same player shoved with AK and was called by AJ.
I won £45.00 for folding twice inside 2 minutes. Nice work if you can get it.
