edited March 2012 in Poker Chat
This is still a leak in my game i think that needs adjusting in cash or mtt for instance say i have 78 and in big blind  folds round to small blind and he just calls i check see a cheap flop and flop comes 7 kk for instance the small blind checks should i bet here ? which i do then i get called then the turn is a blank 3 small blind checks again should i bet again or check for pot control ? these spots i hate and i tend to bet again but the amount of times i lose 1/4 of my stack on cash or mtts with this is unreal any tips would be great and yip the small blind has the king most of the time or higher 7 hope this post makes sense just need some advice many thanks steve :)

half pot the flop and check the turn. They are annoying spots I have issues with them if I bet into them to strongly on the flop/turn.

Its hard to be specific here, generally you should bet out around half pot, if called then you have to work out whether they are capable of making a play or if they are trapping you with trips. Turn if its lower then dont mind another bet as your only getting re-raised by better so can be an easy fold.

really hard to say though as it is opponent specific and all factors of the hand need to come into play, post some in the clinic and get a discussion going. (P.S. Not in google chrome download IE or Firefox, i only use them for posting HH on here)

Think about what hands your opponant can have.

If you bet, can he call with worse hands?

    Can he fold better hands?

Firstly, if small Blind Flats pre-flop, re-raise him 3x, that way it shows strength and gives you the upper hand when the flop comes down, if you make a continuation bet on the flop and he has missed, then you will take it down.

Checking on the Big Blind sends signs to your opponent that your hand is week and most of the time he will keep calling down the streets.
