Live situation when everyone is short stacked

Hi - any opinions for the following situation? I played the superpokerevent (not so super in the end with less than 900 runners when 4000 were advertised) in Dublin last weekend. The structure was fast meaning that when 140 players left with 90 paid, avg stack was 15 BBs.

At 2.5k-5k (500ante) people are obv just shoving every hand and rarely getting called. I am on BB with 70,000 and if folds to the Button who shoves 50,000. He is prob most active on the table - I have A8o. Most probably ahead here but do I call and risk the fold equity I have if I lose?

Looks like you have 2 maybe 3 orbits at most.

I fold personally, wait for a spot where I am appling the pressure.  We only have one way to win this hand.  Id be tempted tho.

I couldnt call there OOP. There must be a better spot on the next orbit.

his pushing range must/should be very wide

i think both moves could be right. i personally fold as i prefer to shove first.

General consensus from all I have asked is that it is a fold even if Iam probably ahead. ICM definitely comes into play here - risking going down to 4 blinds is not worth the chance of getting to over 20.

either option is probably ok,

the problem is there might not be too many un-opened spots within the next 2 or 3 orbits.

given that you said he is the most active i'd call - don't get me wrong, i'm not in love with the situation but barring the deck smacking you in the face you need to go with hands like this v laggy late position shovers.

if if doesn't pan out 4 bigs is very comebackable from in a crapshoot ))
