Locking Sharkscope Stats.

A while ago i discovered you could prevent your Sharkscope stats from being available, which I duly did.
Has anyone else done this and for what reasons?
My reasoning is that  poker is a game of information and  anytime I can stop an opponent from gaining  that info for free,has to be a good thing.

    So tilting when people do this!!! 

    Not as bad as when people 'reset' their stats though.

    so disagree with this post that its tilting y coz someone locks there stats dont mean anything it could be reverse pshcology to get in your head there is loads of reasons players block it ive blocked mine since i started on sky means nothing to me andi hope players use it as im a losing player

    Never said it was wrong. Just annoys me when I load skope to search someone and s/he's blocked/re-set.

    I have my own thoughts about what it means, normally 1 of 2 things, ofc there are exceptions.

    I can see why Sharkscope is a massive help to people playing SnGs and HU and so thus it's obvious why people would want to hide how good/bad they are.

    thanks doh you just answered a question i had. my scope is blocked like others i don't want to give free information. but it still shows some results. i cant remember doing a re set, but would that account for showing a block and some results??

    I've just searched and I can't see any of your stats at all.

    The only thing I can look at, (not that I would as it's pretty pointless) is like a 'head to head' type stat. So in games we've played together, be it a HU sng, a dym, or a 500 runner mtt it will compare our profit/loss in those individual games.

    I don't even know how to do it, I just know as a subscriber this is possible. 

    You say "it still shows some results" - what results are you seeing, as I can't see any and I'm a subscriber? Maybe they just show for you? As they're yours..... ?

    do you have to be a subscriber to lock your stats or can you lock them by just going on the site,i need to lock mine quick :)

    I should hide my MTT stats on Sharkscope... It was a lovely uphill graph, slow and steady...then I started playing sats for SPT Brighton, and it is a steep decline to say the least!

     i have not checked the states i would not know if it was good or bad.
     i dont take notes on players, i just play my own way, i know its not the right way
     but it works for me.
     i know my raising pattern is all wrong mini raising and limping.
     i just learned myself how to play and picked up more from sky poker.
     you cant teach a old dog new tricks

    It's funny I was saying the exact same thing to my girlfriend the other day, that I don't take notes and I just play my own way. I tend to have a set way of playing and don't think I adjust enough to how others are playing which isn't working for me at all. Apart from micro stakes cash, I adjust there cos it's easy to do so regardless of the table.

    I locked mine because of my mother ! She has no understanding of poker, but my stepbrother showed her how to follow my progress at WSOP 2010. Her reaction to me cashing was along the lines of but what would have happened if you had lost that $10k ? No comprehension that I had had the holiday of a lifetime, and came home with some $$$$ in my pocket for an outlay of £13 !

    Since then she has cropped up on my facebook and had a go at me for losing 6 MTTs in a row, so she had obviously been shown sharkscope too. Then again when I won a roller and she said I should quit while I was ahead

    We dont talk a lot now ! As well as locking sharkscope, I deleted my facebook account, sick of people who know nothing making uneducated comments. And I dont miss it a bit.

    And yes Toby, I am a winning player with a profit on sharkscope !

    The funny thing about locked stats is that they show your results vs the person who has locked their stats hu ehh chillie ;).

    Sharkscope started to track STTs on old betfair just as I started a $5k downswing.  I made it back to zero then went on another downswing. Around the 4th or 5th time I bounced off the zero, sharkscope failed to track a very large STT win that would have put me back in profit on the graph, or at least very close.  I snap blocked it after that.  This was despite the fact looking bad is a good thing in STTs.  Every time I saw that particular graph it tilted me way more than it should have done. 

    I wouldn't mind, but I was, and am, a big long run winner on the site.

    I know somebody who beat me heads up on stars in a big tourney had blocked his stats, but from this and other results I have seen, I would be pretty sure that he was clearly a very good profitable player.  I wouldn't be surprised if he was top 10 on there.  But I think you are pretty safe to assume blocked = losing as a default.

    i blocked my stats on pkr not done it for sky but not played many games so no need at mo but i think should judge players as they play at ur table yea ok look up sharkscope see some1 lost 5 games in a row dont mean they playin bad could be running bad or vice versa sometimes sharkscope can make u play some1 diff and ends up costly should always take every1 as you play them.

    My mother lost the plot when I started playing, threatened to disown me and cut me out of her will.

    She has calmed down now, and I do wind her up about it occasionally, but it was quite crazy at the time especially considering I only deposited £5. lol
