Bluffing into the nuts - Mini-primo

edited March 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Am I giving my opponent too little credit for having a hand, or too much credit for being an aggro player? I thought I'd get him off a one-pair hand...

I know, it's not good. lol

it's the early stages of the tournament and you're 5 betting with A high! just let it go after your c bet

Yeah, I don't need telling. I've posted it mainly so people can laugh at me. :)

For a lot of reasons I like the 110 pre.

But will laugh along with you on this one post :)

    NH :p

He's folding anything less than a set to that 5-bet! How can I not win this? :P
    Oh, how I laughed.

I went out of the Primo less than 5 minutes later... that wasn't so funny.

For reasons of laziness I click it pre just saves time :)

Think i wouda folded the re-raise
  • edited March 2012
Would have folded the reraise too but there is no way I could have put him on 46

I don't know what you're all talking about? I think this was text-book:

I c-bet and he raises but he's only raising because he knows I'm c-betting. So I 3-bet and he 4-bets, but he's only 4-betting because he knows that I know that he knows I was c-betting, so he still thinks I'm bluffing. So now I 5-bet and shout "Aha! Call this then!!" and... oh... he has called... and he has the nuts...

See? How standard is that? :D

Its early...and you've not a lot invested so let it go , i feel.
Mind this comes easier after my experience in a DYM when i had QTs and got action from QT8 rainbow flop. Carried on to be greeted by J9. My ignorance of what he could have more than halved my stack. In a DYM..it was back foot time then, eh? People fish early on in comps i feel so if you don't hit really well u can let a C-bet raise go. Cheers...

I dont like opening to 110, dont think its really bad or anything  though

3bet bigger if you are doing it, once he 4bets he aint folding. leveling yourself ftw
