To be honest, instead of 4betting small, I think you should just shove but if he calls anyway it makes no difference, but I don't see the point of 4betting small when you're never gonna like the flop but you've already put too many chips in to fold.

Yep 100% shove after he 3bets.

Yea i see your point about shoving but my bet size is basically saying to him im allin he does not have odds to peel a flop here out of position with a7 out of position the way the action has gone.  When flop came out kkj and he open shoved i snap called as i know he can only ever have air here as he is checking that flop with a king or a jack.

It's not really the point though. You will never like any flop so just get it in pre with a hand where you're probably favourite to win. You have to get your chips in on the flop anyway so do it preflop to give yourself a better chance of getting a fold and winning the pot stress free.

He is never folding the flop once he's called your 4bet, doesnt matter what comes.

I min raise to 2000 he clicks it back to 4000 rejam shoving 26 big blinds would be really bad in my opinion my bet size is effectively asking him if he wants to go allin or fold smooth calling here is not an option for him thats why i am confused.

so you play poker because you think people will make mistakes in a zero sum game such that you can show a profit.
you give him a massive price preflop and yet expect him to never make a mistake by calling. if so we should fold when he does call because he's obviously trapping us right?

this is similar in its awfulnes to your sizing with the AA 5bet.

you increase your stack by 10% when he folds. and if he peels you don't like most boards.

as is would you have posted this hand if he hadn't called ai on the flop and got there?

As it is, he knows that when he calls, he has 80BB left, and you have 20. You are not gonna like 2/3 of flops so he can take it off you with minimal risk to himself.

As you said, he's checking flop with a K or J, so what do you do if he checks flop, check behind? Then when an A comes, what do you do?

Yeah you got unlucky by him hitting the Ace, but by not shoving, you allowed him to shove in an attempt to make you fold and A7 is a pretty strong hand anyway when it's HU

Yes think shoving is better against this kind of player who is going to flat our 4 bet here

Why would he always check back the K or J here? I would be putting you in as your pot committed if i hit either.
Shoving really is the only play here.
