Was i right to call?

Was i just unlucky or did i play this hand wrong from the start. Player had just joined the table and i thought he/she was trying to steal the pot. Any advice appreciated.

hmm 2p 4p im looking to 4 bet and get it all in pre here flop never check i bet and bet big but in the end yes just very unlucky he got his miracle card in the long run you win these

Yes I think you're right to call there, would be tough to lay down jacks on that flop. 

As for the play pre-flop, i'd be raising much more than 14p. We've had three limpers and were out of position.

I think my downfall is a lack of aggression sometimes, i have noticed this a couple of times in recent weeks and its something i need to work on. Maybe im playing scared? i dont think i am tho as its only £4, something to think about.

yeah I call in this spot but as acidman said you should defo be raising more pre flop i usually raise 3xbb plus add a bb for every limper so i`d be lookin raisin to anything from 24p upwards but just very unlucky at the end.

Forgot about my position in this hand, really need to be more aggressive in some hands.
What sort of size should my raise be?

raise more pre flop, you still get called push all in on the turn with that flop.. more aggression tbh

At 2p/4p we can get away with raising much more than at the higher limits. So out of position we can easily raise 5x and then add 1bb for each limper. So in this situation we can make it 32p.

If you feel the table is playing tight and people are folding too much to bigger bets like this then adjust accordingly, but this rarely happens at these levels.
