Tuesday's live show - with James, Stuart & Kevin MacPhee (***OFFICIAL THREAD***)
Jmaes, I just read the piece you wrote and linked to above. Your a great writer. I enjoyed the route you took with the piece and you make some great choices on the angle you come at it from. If this is natural then you are a genius and if it was carefully thought out then it is even more admirable as to make great choices consciously is a rare skill that not many have. Brilliant piece and I hope you link to many more as I could read them all day!

Badly, and donate money to people even more than usual.
Loving kevins input already.
For players like myself who are new to the game and are trying to learn from watching the guests and analysts on 865 it is fantastic when i switch on and see guys like kev and stuart who explain things so well and make it much easier for a new player to understand.
Not forgeting you aswell James mate (one of my fav presenters on 865) this line up makes for a very good show.
Daz
Is this an easy fold/good fold or a bad fold in a fast paced tournament with 50BB effective very early on? Thoughts on flatting pre on both chances I get please Yes it's a bit of a chirp.
Hand History #504259501
I sent this hand into thursdays show but seeing as you are talking about position i feel it is better to show it here instead.
My question is should i be playing this hand in the way i did because i have position ?
I find it hard to play mid pocket pairs after a reraise pre and was wondering what the best way of playing them should be, i never know if i should be showing more strength and 4 betting or just set mining in position with a view to trying to take the pot down if i see weakness ?
The reason i didnt reraise pre here was because the 3 bet came from out of the blinds and i felt i would be facing a premium hand.
Hand number 501797253 and it came from action table 24 on 05/04/12
Ty Daz and please dont be too harsh because ive only been playing poker 11 days
HI ALL,
THIS IS TONIGHTS COMPETITION QUESTION;-
THE WORLD POKER TOUR CELEBRATES ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR.
WHO WON THE FIRST EVER WPT EVENT BACK IN 2002?
PLEASE ENTER AT;- SKYOPEN@BSKYB.COM
COMPETITION CLOSES AT 10:45PM TONIGHT , 10TH APRIL 2012!!!
I have a question...
I usually play low-stakes cash and SnGs with modest but consistent success, but like to use my Poker Points on Freeroll MTTs as a bit of fun. The tournaments usually have about 500 runners, with 5-minute blinds, making them quite turbo-ish.
I start off playing a quite solid and tight-aggressive style (but happy to get in all in with a monster). I do OK, and I am very good at surviving into the last quarter or third of the field, but by this point I nearly always find myself short-stacked (10bb or less) and then have to rely on a few lucky double-ups to cash.
I am not usually an MTT player. I have played 60 of these Freerolls and cashed in 11, including 3 final tables (but no win), making about £23, which is better than a kick in the teeth I suppose.
What tactics would you employ to maximise value out of these Freerolls, which I imagine play looser than 'normal' MTTs?
PS: Just joined tonight's Freeroll over 10 minutes late and found myself ahead of my starting stack!
