1. Play in position.
2. Bet your big hands.
3. Try not to limp.
4. HAVE FUN!
If you still have the tokens that you get when you sign up to Sky Poker, still haven't played the new player Freeroll, etc, see what you can get from them.
You also have 500 Poker Points when you sign up so use them on some Freerolls - The best value freerolls are the PLO ones on Weekends @ 2pm if you know how to play Omaha. If not then I'd have a punt on that Cheltenham Freeroll in the lobby as that's just great value, and just play whatever freerolls you can, see what you can build that £5 up to, and go from there.
Not going to recommend Sky Vegas, but when you go on there for the first time, I think you get some kind of freebie, might as well use it on something and see what you get out of it, then hit the self exclude button and never go back on there ever again 'cause it's a waste of money.
Sky Bet, once again, think they give you a free bet of some sorts, take it, stick it on something (Don't stick it on a really short price as you don't get the £10 free bet back even if your pick wins). Also, there's a promotion on there where you can get money off your Sky bill or £5 free bets by betting £10 every day and getting a stamp, 5 stamps = £5 off your sky bill or £5 free bet, which with a little bit of thought, can be worth a few quid a month with next to no risk.
You use the same login for Sky Poker as for all of the other Sky gambling sites, plus the Super 6 thing on Sky Sports News every Saturday.
Hope this helps
In shock no-one has suggested DTD on a Monday night yet
might have to deposit another 50p tho...
Good luck.
I'd recommend playing DYM's. When I first deposited a £10 I played about 3 x weeks worth of 30p/60p of dym's and at the end still had £10! I had, however, increased my poker knowledge by a huge amount! If you are new there are also (at least there were) freerolls on a Tuesday night. I managed to luckox my way to the FT of one of these and won £30! I'd also rec reading (& getting involved in) the poker clinic. There's a lot of great advice for newbies there.
Good Luck!
As a few have said, with the bank roll you have, your best place to start would be low level DYM's (Double your money). Have a read of John Connors blog on DYM Strategy and play solid poker and you can show a good return over time on these tournaments.
When you've built your roll enough, move up to the next level and keep doing it.
if you like MTT's there are always the freerolls pretty regulary on Sky and once you've made a little profit, no harm having a spin at the £1.10 deepstack tournaments. Lots of play in these and good solid poker will generally allow you to do well in them.
Most of all, just enjoy it.
