Well I think it's probably a nice break for them rather than sitting in front of multiple monitors for hours and hours, gets them a bit of notority and I imagine it's alot of fun. Most people who love poker, love just being involved in the world of poker, whether it's discussing hands with friends, watching it on tv, or whatever.

I'd be very shocked if they didn't get paid but I don't think it's megabucks. I think I heard that they do get paid but it's not like a salary, I think they're all classed as free-lance and as just paid per show, so can be dropped if necessary, or indeed they could take a few weeks off if they were doing something, but it would be unpaid.

Maybe someone can correct me if anything above is wrong

i agree i dnt think its about the money of course because these people would earn more in a hour then they would do on the show but for job oppurtunitys its good opens up for other stuff look at james hartigan last nite i was watching him on channel 4  in bahamas presenting a show so its a good job 2 have travel the world presenting poker etc

And why don't you think we should be paid for 5 hours of live TV, when we have to be there for around 2-3 hours before for prep and travel to and from the studio?

more confused that you would think that we should work for free just because we all do ok thru playing poker!

fwiw the money isn't my main motivation for doing it.  its a fantastic opportunity at an amazing organisation and one that I feel very grateful to be given.

The written word is open to misinterpretation. I think if the highlighted word was changed to "loadsa", then the true intention of the post would be clearer. I don't perceive any implication that the OP believes that analysts shouldn't be paid, but rather he was just wondering...

To be absolutely fair, the thread title said "it might be a stupid question". 

I would respectfully suggest that it was indiscrete, rather than the chosen adjective.

As a general rule, the salaries & fees which people earn here are considered off limits for public discussion, & they will remain private.

We try to be open on as many things as possible, but salaries & wages have never been, & will never be, matters that should be in the domain.

Why do you think they shouldn't get paid, they give up there time and do an excellent job, that goes for everyone who appears on the show.(and back room staff) as stated a 5 hour show might be 6,7 8,hours with rehearsals, how much they get paid may be debatable, but that's up to sky, and good luck to them on how much they are paid, keep up the good work, and keep on entertaining us.

I think they do a good job, I've only been playing poker for 5 months and the analysts have improved my game. Good on yer keep up the good work.
