Mods I'll just keep starting the same thread! LAG due to Grand National Freeroll spilling over into

edited April 2012 in Poker Chat
I had a thread up where others were experiencing the same problem as me buyt Sky saw fit to move it to the back of beyond to hush it up! The Grand national Freeroll had more players than the Sky software could handle and it was spilling over into my Main Event. I have now had to keep pre clicking all in and eventually went out. This is a joke. The 'Live Chat' 'Customer Service' had a 20 minute cue to get through and the girl then told me that for recording the conversation, where she told me I was the first to complain about this, that she would be cutting me off. Then the Moderators see fit to move the thread that had people replying with the same problem! Absolute Joke. I haven't had a problem like this with Sky since I returned to the site last August. The reason I left in the first place was due to a similar problem. I will evaluate the situation and decide on a fyrther course of action when I have calmed down as I have just put my fist through a door and will now be paying someone to fit a new one. Absolutely disgusted with the so called 'Customer service' and annoyed that Sky poker decided to run a tourney that they new full well their software couldn't handle!

See Sky, wasn't just me. People are allowed to talk about a problem when they have one and to keep moving the thread is futile. You keep moving it and I'll keep re-writing it. SIMPLES!lol

As posted on the other thread, Sky's Customer Care is pants - One of the things I'm looking forward to with Priority Club if I get in at the end of this month is hopefully getting a personal Customer Care dude who treats customers like human beings, not like dirt.

And it still makes absolutely no sense to me why Sky choose to run an event with 2k players, especially following the UKOPS BH debacle. Every Sky event should, IMO, be capped @ 700 runners max, as anything more seems to cause major problems. I've stopped playing for the night, simply 'cause the problems with the freeroll were affecting my other games, so Sky have already lost main + mini entry fee that I would've paid most nights, as well as however many DYM entry fees I'd pay tonight as well.

Putting your fist through a door is definitely -EV though, and it hurts - not something I'd recommend doing.

Interesting, all this time Pingu and I never knew what your name was.

I aint been playing but I thought I'd bundle in on this thread anyway. I was gonna play some HU later, but I might just give it a miss for tonight.

I know Sky software is in the process of being updated but yeah as you said Andy, they should cap tournies until the updates are released and they know the system can cope.

I must not have been paying attention that night, what was the UKOPS BH debacle?

Sky had a £33, £20k or £25k GTD BH side event during the Xmas UKOPS, got somewhere in the region of 850 runners, same problems as with the Freeroll tonight, people were getting dealt maybe 1 or 2 hands per blind level, turned into a crapshoot and there was a load of people complaining on the forum that night and the next day, asking for buy-ins back, people saying "I want x amount of money as I was in 1st before the problems started", etc. Can't remember exactly what happened, but must've cost Sky Poker a few thousand quid.

After that, I don't know how they can run a Freeroll with 2k runners, knowing that they're going to have similar problems, if not worse.

    I spy a forum ban!
truth is we all know there's a problem, but it's going to get worse because the site is getting more and more popular for the variety it's giving!

Well I'm sure they're well aware of the fact the site is getting more popular (as I'm sure they want it to), hence why they are updating all the software. Problem is, they kinda should have got all thbefore it ever got to a point where they couldn't handle the traffic, but hindsight is a lovely thing.

    I'm sure they'll sort it.

The only comment I'd make on this is You or I don't know how many people contacted customer care with this problem.

Part of the problem is that people come onto the forum and write about it where it isn't seen by anyone from Sky Poker possibly until the next day.

If everyone reported the problem via customer care then they'd pretty soon realise there is a problem and act on it.

If they want to lose a customer then fine Forum ban me. I am so infuriated by the Customer service agents that I simply wouldn't care.

I'd say a  20 minute cue for Live chat would tell you the level of complaints.

Mods have removed my post with the ridiculous comments by a Customer Service agent who was trying to tell me how and when to play poker and would not admit there was a problem or apologise. Again no comment on why the removal had taken place. I believe I will be leaving as this is getting ridiculous. No one willing to stand up and admit the problem or apologise is a disgrace. Then to have a jumped up answering machine telling me how to play poker and that I should have 'Tried to play normally and maybe it would have sorted itself out' yet he still claimed there was no problem which contradicts his statement.

You don't need an explanation - read the sticky guidelines thread

    Extract

The Sky Poker Community is not a replacement for Customer Care. Nor is it a place to air specific grievances with the service or product. If you have any issues regarding your account, (i.e., Cash for Points, bonus offer or tournament token queries) direct these to Customer Care, not on the forum or PMs to Moderators. Details for Customer Care can be found at the bottom of the page.

We don’t like the idea of customer’s thinking they’re getting terrible service from the Community when the truth is Customer Care are the people they should be speaking to in the first place.

    That's why

SolarCarro I assume your the Mod that moved the original thread and deleted the post on this one then?
I never at any point said I was getting 'terrible service from the community'. Nor did I imply that it was Sky Pokers fault. I was putting the Thread and subsequent posts up to see if others had experienced the same problem. Your curt response shows you didn't read it thouroughly enough. To simply state 'Thats Why' is rather rude and I assume you have taken it personally as did I when I had a thread moved without a reason applied. I was not airing a problem that needed to be dealt with by CC I was seeking information from other players about their experiences of the problems that have undoubtedly been happening tonight. In future before you post such a dismissive reply you should read all posts carefully and consider your reply.

So why jump in so quickly? It was a legitimate question to ask for a reason why it was moved in the first place and why the subsequent post was removed all together. I apologise for jumping to conclusions and obviously am truly sorry for suggesting you were the Mod who moved it.

I logged on, read the thread and thought I was being helpful explaining why a post concerning customer care would have been moved (I did not see the post that was moved) I also tried to explain why they haven't pm'ed you the reason as it was explained in a sticky post.

I wasn't being rude I can assure you, just trying to be helpful.

No need to apologise, you haven't said anything to apologise before and I am sorry you are getting the brush off but I'm just trying to re-iterate that nobody on the forum can be of any useful help

I'm glad I didn't cause any offence. I was putting the thread up to see how many other people had experienced the problem and was gaining information for when I made my complaint to CC tomorrow. All the posts on the previous thread and the ones on here are ammunition for me when complaining to CC tomorrow. I also know the reasons why the don't post an explanation when moving or closing a thread but that doesn't mean it is correct. It would save so much infuriation if they just said, 'Thread has been moved for XYZ reason'. Then we wouldn't get infuriated and continue to angrily bash away the keyboard as I have been doing since 20:15.lol. Thanks for not being offended/annoyed at my last post as I am thouroughly p****d off with the treatment I have had tonight and replied rather quickly without thinking about my response. Thanks for also trying to help.

Hi Shaun,  As a matter of course when we Mods, delete a post , or a thread we usually, not all the time, but usually PM the individual involved to explain the reason.  In many cases when we simply move a thread it is usually self explainitory why it has been moved, it's just in the wrong section.

I can't speak for the other Mods but I will make a point of expaining moved threads, either by PM or by posting on the moved thread.  What seems like a casual move for us can obviously be frustating for the individual conecerned.  I will endeavour to be a bit more open about the reason, when I move a thread.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

Half the problem is that they assume everyone wants a refund, so they are reluctant to admit a problem. They didn't admit there was a problem and even told me that it may be something at my end.lol

This is exactly what I said last time this happened, which was the VLV freeroll only a month ago... (15th of March to be precise...)

Oh and funnily enough, after being in a 40 minute cue the rep told me no one else was having problems... despite almost everybody on all 3 of my tables suffering... and a F****** 40 minute cue!!!!!!

She kept going on about my connection being to blame with no chance of admitting it was SKY's failure.

Serious business  />>> SORT IT OUT SKY
