isolating a player??

hi. iv just had some great posts regardinginfo on squeeze play(thanks). watching poker on tv the commentator sometimes refers to a player isolating a opponent,what does this mean please?.thanks.

    Isolating is very common in bounty hunters although isnt restricted to it, im going to use them as the best example

    PLayer 1 had 200 chips at 50/100 blinds, obviously he shoves and lots of callers for the head. If you shove you the player isolating him as you want the head for yourself and yourself only.

    isolating is essentially to attack the weaker player(generally in position) who constantly limp when entering the pot to play him/her h/u, with some stations it can have the reverse effect, but you keep doing this with players you can comfortably play post flop with who dont give you tough decisions post, then its very profitable, you're essentially picking up a lot of dead money all the time, in my experience this works well v passive fish, gl.

    hand selection, doesn't matter really, but its good to have a somewhat connected hand, but player selection is more important.
