Changes to £300/£500 Velocity Games

big changes to these, making them last nearly 2 1/2 hours hardly velocity!!

Levels gone up from 4 mins to 5mins so now same as speed tourneys.
1st break at level 9 - only 45 mins!!! - obviously done so there are more players to buy add-ons, but makes the game even longer.
The add-on gone up to 6000 chips, again making the game last too long.

Makes the 23.10 night game a no no - possibly not finishing til 1.45am!!

The shape of things to come...................

Sky please review this format - your velocity game is now longer than a speed game!!

I need to find something else.

It's supposed to be fast.

I always thought this tourny was a bit too fast and hadn't played it for a while, and didn't know it had changed.

But the changes you described sounded as if Sky had hit the sweet spot with it, at least for the way I like to play.

So I've given it a few goes - cashed one and then (#bragpost) took it down tonight.

So please Sky, keep it with the new configuration. It may be slower - 2.25 hrs tonight - but it works for me - and it is still fairly brutal when you get to the final table.

Also I won almost twice as much as the prevoius time I won it, and with a slightly smaller field.

aussie09 I notice you are still playing it, although not so lucky tonight, how would you now rate it having tried it for a while?

hi geldy,

firstly, congratulations on your win and successes.  great stuff.

and secondly, i used to like using a strategy which brought some success before the changes yet has been nullified a wee bit since.  so it's not a problem, it's just different.  i will have to make a few tweaks to win one again.  in the meantime my first tweak will be to avoid you.
