Flopped a set very wet board dym

edited April 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Not really suited for dyms with my game being honest. However i think playing them could help improve my overall game, that plus im not rolled for anything else.

So hand below comes from a £1.15 dym of which i have 10 buy ins. As you can see ive flopped a set mw on probably one of the wettest boards possible. Ive cut out results but kept full play in so i can get best replies of overall play.

    Raise more on flop.

    Bet more on turn.

River as played probz bet/fold about 400 as can't see them checking J to you.

Why bet the river? What do you get called with that your beating? Easy check imo :)

At this level people will pay you off with lots of random two pairs hands from experiance so defo losing value by checking imo, plus they usually bet out on river if they have monster.

    as played defo b/f river

limp pre is fine, but i prefer raising.

raise on flop is fine imo, but i bet turn like 3/4 pot.

At low levels vs fish I love putting a vsmall vbet on river on wet boards, something like 350 :D

I personally raise pre but limpin is fine i suppose
    flop raise is fine
turn bet anything from 3/4 to pot imo
river I`m prob making a small value bet

raise more on flop and bet more on the turn
    I'd probz check myself

    Raise preflop

I'm betting a touch more on both flop and turn.

If this was anything other than a DYM i would be B/F the river.  But it's a DYM so I'm checking behind.  If the other players are playing correctly they should not be paying you off with anything we beat on this board.  If they are not playing correctly they can suddenly decide to 'go with it,' not want to be short stacked and make confusing and -ev value shoves with worse, which is bad for us because this should always be better hand and we end up folding to an inadvertent bluff.

Check it back and hopefully pick up the pot.

    385 on turn imo.

Call me weak tight, I'd just check ready to fold from the turn.
You're playing DYMs with 10BI - you want low variance, that board with 2 villians just isn't. You've got better spots coming later in the match without even seeing a flop. Now tell me your set held to take the pot down.
