What do you think of these cash game hands? - hazards of multitabling and being effectively without

edited April 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Played a profitable 1 hr session 7 tabling , which is pretty much the most i can manage at moment screen wise on laptop.

However when reviewing losing hands these two stuck out as accounting for half a buyin at NL20 and where i very well may have folded the best hand.

I'ld welcome comments on specific hands, but more interested in these situations in general where i feel that if i was playing fewer tables I'ld have a much clearer idea where i was at in the hand. Should i just be stacking off in these spots? I feel any opponent who is playing a single table and is also aware that I am multitabling would find it very easy to exploit me in spots like this...

1st hand, I had no idea what was going on!!! Had he limped a monster hand, limped with mid pr that flopped a set, simply decided to take me off my hand when the King arrived on turn and i checked??/

2nd hand

felt the raiser on flop was showing massive strength betting into 2 opponents. Apart from the hands i could be up against that are already beating me i felt there where plenty of str8 and flush draw combo's where i would be pretty much flipping - so decided to bale out.

Part of issue again, was that i had no feel for whether this player was the type to do this with a bare flush draw

Hand 1 I would have bet turn aswell instead of showing weakness and letting your oppo take control and not knowing where your at. Although his river bet did look as if he wanted to be called so you were prob beat.

Hand 2 WTF ?   unknown oppo you say ? yet your basically putting him on kj or 1010 ?   I could never fold that to a unknown player mate, especially a player who has limp called pre. Got to be a flush draw in my opinion. I SAY SHIP IT :)

Hand 1 - Probably bet the turn as checking when an overcard comes is weak. Also, we've only got 1 limper but raised 5x. I think that's a little bit big unless our opponent is a massive station and will literally call ANYTHING.

As played, opponent's line suggests massive strength, looks like a small pair has flopped a set or a limped monster, so I don't mind the river fold. If I'm against a decent player, I probably level myself, think I'm being picked on because I've shown weakness and pay them off 'cause I'm a fish )

But yeah, bet the turn, don't show weakness to begin with, and don't inflate the pot more than we need to by raising 5x OOP, then you probably don't get into this situation.

Hand 2 - Once again, your bet sizing pre-flop. This time, you've only gone for a 3x raise despite the limper. Standard raise is generally 3bb + 1bb/limper, so I'd go for £1.20 here.

On flop, whatcha doin'? If you're not getting the money in when you flop top 2 pair with AQ, you might as well fold it pre-flop. I break my mouse clicking the "All In" button here. GL if our opponent has a set of 10's or a straight, we still have 4 outs in both cases anyway. We're going to see worse hands fairly often here IMO, so get the money in.

1-Dont worry about showing weakness, worry about playing your hand right. Bet turn for value, If you play it way you did call river

2- get it in on flop.

As for your sizing pre, I think H1 is fine, H2 I prefer a little more but its no big deal
