What level does skill set change?

edited July 2012 in Poker Chat
At beginning of year was playing 2 tables NL4. Gradually increased this and was OK at NL8 and for past 2 weeks been comfortable at 2 tables NL10 with a bankroll of £500.
During the past week I have taken the occasional stab at NL20. Doubled up the first time but stacked on 3 other occasions. Is this the level that skills change and I am just not ready for it yet or is it just variance?

Any thoughts on skill level changes as you progress through levels

i found nl30 people started getting "creative" and by nl50 i wasnt really sure what was going on :-)

I have to say ive played many different levels for different periods of time. And i dont think you should just adapt to the table. Rather than saying ill bluff more at NL10 or NL30. I think there are NL4 tables you can be creative on. And ive never played as high as NL100 but i bet theres tables up there that some big names wont bluff on.

I rekon its all about the opponents.

I'm with Pod on this......NL50 is the game changer. So many differing styles and so many good players....tough to beat.

NL20 Just.. NL4-10 is pretty similar in my experiance NL20 is where proper poker comes in and you can widen your range a bit more. Obviously its table dependent, its impossible to say whether its variance or maybe your not ready for nl20, play a few more sessions and go from there if you think your being outplayed try harder or drop down and come back when you fancy another shot

    NL10 & NL20 = more tight REGS than NL4/8

NL30-50 = more tight regs that 3/4 bet light

table selection and note taking become very important at NL10 & NL20

There is no level where you can say it changes. The regs get better the higher you go but the fish are still fish! The highest games in the world in Macau will have people playing like its NL4. like rancid says table selection is key as you move up. But as long as you are rolled then you will do fine.

yeah nl20,nl30 is when the regs are impossible to get money off unless you cooler them lol

but yeah nl20 upwards you will see the regs get tougher but I agree with sjspanky when i was rolled for 40,50nl before xmas 50nl was filled with regs at every table so tough 2 beat imo so I mainly played 40nl because there were less regs at tables.

bump =) yeh but from 10nl up it gets alot harder.

to win at 20nl/30nl u might need to change ur game bit as ur mainly up against deeper thinking players.
