Software fault or something else?

£300 BH Just now.

QQ in the small blind with a shorty to my left. I raise, he goes all in and there's a call from the button. I was keen to 4 bet all in pre to isolate but the only options in the betting box were call or fold. The result is what it is, but what's happening pre?

Yes, it's a little known rule amongst newcomers. Because the all-in is less than half a min-raise, you can't actually re-raise pre flop as the initial raiser. If you hadn't yet acted in the hand when someone makes a raise to less than half the min-raise, this doesn't apply.

You should post this on the "Ask Tikay" thread. I'm sure he'll be able to explain it better than I can. I remember seeing something like this happen at a live game and it nearly sparked a brawl. lol

Just copy and paste it... I have no idea if there's an easier way. I'm not the IT type...

I'd love to tell you the reason for the rule, but anything I said would just be supposition. Tikay knows eveything about this sort of thing though.

It seems that the problem arises because the all-in from the shorty doesn't count as a legal raise, so neither does the call from the button. Therefore it's also illegal for me to re-raise in this spot.
