The Start!

Hello Everyone

I just thought id introduce myself to everyone seeing as iv read other peoples posts and it seems like you get some good comments from people.  i havnt got any difficult challenges like some of you to turn £10 into a £1000 cause i no i cant lol, i started playing poker 2 years ago but i go rough spells where i play alot then none at all for a month but lately due to different situations i have alot of time on my hands so i have decided now is a time to conquer a game that has always frustrated me !

The more i say that the more people tell me its impossiable because the game is so random, which makes me want to be successful even more, success in my mind is consistanly being better then most players and constantly making money, there my aims. Im spending alot of time revising poker lately and i will reach my aims!

Im just writing so i can here your storys, your aims and your advice.  Thanks for whoever reads this hopefully i will see you on the tables, thanks !

Robbie

OK, well the first thing you want to do if you want to get off to a safe and positive start is play within your bankroll. Not sure if you do this already but if you don't, you defiitely should. For example, if you have around £100, play £2.25 DYMs maximum! Also, as your not yet fully confident in your abilities just play small stakes, i.e. NL4, 2.30 bounty hunters, and the lower level DYMs. But be careful if your aiming to play a lot of tournaments as these have high variance meaning that you can go for a while without cashing or doing will in them.

Sorry if this is insulting your intelligence if you already know this stuff, but assuming you don't I hope it helps! :)

Exactly. You wanna be playing at a low enough level that when you have a bad day you can just shrug it off, say oh well, and carry on with the next day. But if you play £11 DYMs with £100 and a bad day means losing 50% of the money in your account, then it REALLY hurts.

if i play too low tho i just find it boring, i feel like even if i win its not a huge amount so why do i care that much , i want to play a level so i actually care about the amount i will win
