DYM - did i play this wrong?

edited May 2012 in The Poker Clinic

Did i make the mistake of playing this hand for starters? Its a DYM and bb is away. Should i have even made the raise pre-flop and is the turn shove too much ?

3x is probably a little on the big side. At this blind level, I go to either 250 or just open shove, depending on how deep the effective stacks are. In this case, I prefer a raise to 250 I think.

Flop cbet fine, turn I probably give up. Can't say I'm a fan of how your opponent played it either, but nothing we can do about that.

Minraise pre or fold, I prefer fold with a hand that sucks to play post flop, really don't like open shove 19bb effect.

Flop I cbet less, on that bone dry flop 250-300 gets the job done.

Check back turn, he never folds that turn once he smooth calls flop bet.

    m/r is good
wouldn't mind checking back flop with awkward stack size - you dont really wanna lose any more
as played I def check back the turn
