Thanks folks! Just been on two 4NL tables today and made a marginal profit, saving the real poker for in 3 weeks or so when all my exams are over and done with. I can play more and focus on my game more then

Thanks Going to give me a big boost in this 'project' and was quite an experience for my first main event. Not sure I'll be entering many more though unless my bank roll takes another magic turn, pretty certain I would be kicking myself if I bought my way in as I'd just end up sitting too tight and drifting away ahahh. Good luck in any others you enter though!

there are cheap satellites throughout the day for like £1.60 i think.....try them
Isnt that a lovely boost when youre playing with less than £20 bankroll, really chuffed for you Josh, you now have that cushion you were in need of, whether the win was through run good or good play it sets you up now for a proper crack at this, instead of losing almost 10% of your roll a day if you played one DYM and got unlucky. Best of luck and I wish you well.
Decided to end the day of poker early as I was only going downhill seeing as I have an English Language exam tomorrow, have been trying to revise for that and play at the same time... was obviously going to end badly ahahh.
Anyway, I have an exam tomorrow and then ones next Thursday and Friday for my final one to be on the following Wednesday, the 30th. Seeing as I've barely revised for them I'm going to tone down the poker for a week or so to make sure I minimize losses and more importantly get good grades!

I'll probably find myself sneaking in the odd hand but I think I'm going to try and keep away from the cash tables as they need a longer period of time to play so that you can remain patient in waiting for the right times to play (note how I didn't say good hands ahahh)
Josh I don't want to sound like an old fuddy duddy but as somebody who at your age decided that revision wasn't that important can I just say to you that this next week is really important to you and for the sake of a week playing poker believe me when I say your exams are far more important.
Spend the next week revising and doing your best to get the results your obvious intelligence merits and then spend the summer enjoying your poker rather than regretting not revising and having to worry about the future.
A week off poker is a small price to pay for the career and future of your choice.

Actually great advice. I think I'm going to do just that and maybe play the odd DYM or something when I've really had enough. I certainly need to stop myself from doing what I have in the past few weeks and putting work off to do things I enjoy more, like poker. I'm going to have to try and think of the exciting Summer I have ahead!
At least the subject I have revised the least for, which I'll be sat doing tomorrow is my kind of 'insurance' one that I took just in case I ended up off track in any others. So yeah, revision for the next 5 days and then for the few days after that leading up to my final exam.
Thanks for the advice, hopefully going to be worth it!
