I just want to reassure myself that this was the worst call EVER!

I've been playing very active, raising a lot of btns and esp villains bb A LOT! I recently 4b shoved his 3b w/ JQo and he folded. Basically there's no way he'd believe my btn raise - so knowing that, does it make this a call?
I'm pretty sure it doesn't - even when it happened I KNEW it's a clear fold - i'm just making sure i'm correct.
Anything like A7+ is a call but this is a race so often at best - and for half of my stack surely that isn't ok

it's from the primo with about 25 left

Yeah it's pretty bad, even with the top heavy payout structures I'd still wait for a better spot.

Oh and if you're going to call the shove anyway, you might as well ship from the button yourself.
  • edited May 2012
BTN v Blinds pretty standard imo dynamic alwyas weird in those sitautions.

Looking at both blind stacks though, i just open ship
  • edited May 2012
also what influenced my call was the fact that sky's pay out structure is pre-historic and I woudn't have made any more money until like 10th so I thought FI

its the same on all sites mate, payout is standard, you wouldnt believe hw good we get it on sky.

But thats why you have to play FTW
  • edited May 2012
no it's not - on both other sites I play on it's usually like:
    30-21 £50 (example)
    20-17 £65
    16-14  £75
    13-11  £95
    then if it's a 10 seated final table ......
and each has a higher payout!

basically what I'm getting at, Sky's payout structurebasically means the payout's are so similar from 30th > 10th. it's bs
  • edited May 2012
    sky's is:

    30-21
    20-10
    then regular increases
or maybe that's because it's 6max. meh doesn't really matter

percival im going to give you a a random stars tourny payout as soon as i can find one we can compare. next tourny i can open a lobby for without gettung lucky searching a random name will have a prixepoll avalible est of 12.05 will load the top 50.
  • edited May 2012
I don't play on stars atm, but I'm pretty sure they have the same structure as what i just said

    stars 9 seater:

    27-19
    18-16
    15-13
    12-10
    9 onwards
  • edited May 2012
    stars 6 seater:

    24-19
    18-13
    12-10
    9-7
    6 onwars

the fact 20th gets the same as 10th on sky is definitely a joke

Wnt let my copy n paste a tourny lobby

in primo last night 30th was £84  10th was £113
  • edited May 2012
Yeah raise folding vs those stacks would be pretty bad imo.

Open shove is good as gives most FE and even if called are flipping most times.

well I'd still prefer if they changed the structure - there's a big difference in finishing 11th and 19th/20th imo
    ps. where did you finish?

as played, you think a call is def right?
I thought it was bad because I'm calling for half of my stack when I'm very comfortable with 30k

    haha we all do.

its probably simiaar tbh. the issue with stars i think if you say u cash in 1 in 10 tournys to break even over those 10 torunys u gta be in top 1% of field.

    Prob same with sky tbh

Edited cuz i realised i made a typo

yeah that was supposed to show how small the changes was in 20places, 9th was then like 230 i think.

i busted about 3hands after you i think

oh, you were on my side lol
def needs changing at some point

    Hi Percival
I think my hand beats yours for silly play (re "Percival09....." in  poker clinict")
For the stack sizes it seems a big chance to take for a a flip at best possibly, IMO.
Mine was worse though i'm not so proud to say...What do you think?
  • edited May 2012
Yeah call defo right and at least it allows them a bit more room to shove wider thinking you might fold but for me shoving is better as it folds out many hands where you're racing like A6/7/8/9 even T plus most Kings, also he might even fold some pairs like 77 for example when having to call off 16bbs without any FE but that depends how wide you've been playing overall.
  • edited May 2012
    I've been playing v.wide
villain knows it as well, he saw my K3s at showdown bvb lol
