Sky Vegas

edited May 2012 in Area 51
Don't play Sky's Vegas games with too much confidence. Must be about the 17th time i've lost over 500 pounds on blackjack in the most extreme circumstances which makes it to strange to be random. I really wish panorama or trading standards looked into online gaming with a fine comb. BEWARE!

Self exclude yourself from Sky Vegas. It's a waste of £££.

Are you using the "Aroma Euro Yon" system? It doesn't work on Sky Vegas... Try the "A Ray Euro Moon" version, I find it more profitable over 10k + games of Blackjack.

    Good Luck

BIG + 2 It was my downfall for a while. They are only a click away on most poker sites now (roulette and BJ) - even on the tables on some sites - This is probably there biggest revenue but at least on Sky you can exclude yourself for x amount of time - I do it every 6 months.

Nothing worse than a few bad bts and thinking " Oh well i can win it back in 1 hand of BJ or spin of wheel" .

PPl talk about results in poker and profitability and that it must be done over thousands of hands etc

On BJ and Roulette you will never bt it on any site or any Casino

Ps - apart from that guy who won 2.7 mill on  aslot game of a 90 pence spin i think, but ppl see that and think - oo that could be me - Just stay away

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has got suckered into Sky Vegas.  I have had a bad beat or so on poker and thought I could win it all back on the spin of a wheel or BJ like another poster said but just lost more and then tried to bet more to win it back and spiralled out of control.  Lost all my bank roll a couple of times.  Dangerous stuff.

How do you self exclude yourself as I think I should to stop any future weaknesses!

Edit: Just found it! Now self excluded :-)

    Great post btw :-)

What Alfie says "Having said that i was always bladdered when i logged on." Ha me too ,had built up a nice nice £600 bankroll at poker and went onto low stakes !roulette......and from what my records show the next day whilst sober, i got up to as high as £30 a spin on low stakes and had a run of 12 losing spins at those levels and yet on skypoker i've never bought in for a main event (only sattelites) yet when drunk for 3 seconds of fun or if you add up maybe nearly a minute of fun i could have entered a roller tourney a few times! Banned myself from sky vegas now for 6 months.

only one winner in the end up and thats sky vegas, sky poker is totally fair game but i have my doubts about sky vegas, think its a total sham!!!!
  • edited May 2012
BIG +1 to self excluding on Sky Vegas...it's far to easy to lose a lot of money on 'small stakes roulette' and Blackjack. And as earler posts have mentioned, you spend loads on a couple of roulette spins and then hesitate about a £5 or £10 tournament entry which even if you don't win, at least you will have had some value for your money!

6 year self exclusion on sky vegas is totally +ve for poker imo. To easy to tilt into a slot game or roulette. Also self excluded from bingo as sky have started to sneak in casino games which arent covered by a sky vegas self exclusion.

biggest con on all of these gaming sites be it Sky  or others is the matched bonuses they give signed up with one deposited £100 they made it £300 . great I thought, until I realised I could not withdraw either my deposited amount or the bonus until I had wagered it 30 times ie gambled £9000.  You have not way of coming out of it ahead having to play for this long. In the end I went on Roulette putting £60 on both black and red and £5 on zero so as to bet £125 each spin but only risking £5 a spin. Youve guessed it didnt hit any zeros !

why all the self excluding nonsense - can nobody just say no in the first instance??!! dont be sheep or lemmings be your own person , if someone asks you to bend over do you try it and then self exclude yourselves thereafter if not enjoying it??? have some backbone all of you dont do things that you do not gain enjoyment from pure and simple

Just returned to my original post to have another rant as i deposited £50 last night to play a few poker tourneys and after sitting thru 4hrs of the mini open to finish 4th from 375 players and win £70 also won a couple of £35 sit and gos then all of a sudden there is no decent tourneys to enter with big enough prize money. but i suppose its mainly down to sky not having enough users. i think they should give away a little more rather than just taking and offer a few more big money guaranteeed tourneys will maybe get more users and keep them. So anyway,.... with nothing to play was soo bored and was playing low stakes blackjack with £1 a hand then all of a sudden i lose 10 hands on the bounce so i step it up to a fiver - lose - tenner - lose - 20 - lose - 40 - "DEALER HAS BLACKJACK"!!! Deposit £100 put it all on a hand again - "DEALER HAS BLACKJACK"!!!!! WOW! What a surprise! and for some reason it makes me take it out on my laptop and im shocked its still in one piece.

18th time now then, its unreal how fixed it is! I'm starting to worry if i can still play poker on sky just incase all the people i lose to with pocket kings against 10 jack in cash games and tournaments are just skys little bots and are not even real people.

Thanks for the replies everyone and stay well clear! I am to take your advice and self exclude myself and i will advise evryone else to do so who plays poker because sky poker is boring and you will always be tempted to have a little spin or hand and get fcuked over.

Good luck to you all on Sky..... you sure as hell need it.

Here's a little play I wrote for you---- It's set in England, just before the launch of Sky vegas--

Scene 1--- Big bedroom, very posh--- Mr big boss Sky man yawns as he is woken by his wife---

Mrs Sky-- "good morning dear-- You'll never guess what just happened-- I went to buy you a new ferrari this morning, so I checked our bank account first, and found out we have loads of money!!

Mr sky--- "That's right darling, we do, I just thought it would be nice to wake up one morning and find out you have loads of money"--

Mrs sky---"Well that's all very nice dear, but it's really not fair is it?-- All this money came from the people of England, how can we look poor people in the eye?

Mr Sky,-- "Don't worry darling, I'll figure out a way to give it back, first thing tomorrow morning"

Mrs Sky-- "why don't you just set up an internet gambling site that works the opposite way to all the other ones and gives away loads of money to everybody?"

Mr sky-- "that's a very interesting idea darling, I'll look into it right away"

Maybe you have a gambling problem?..looks that way to me.
you win a bit on poker then feeel the need to carry on for the next "big hit".
As for casino games they are indeed "fixed" but not so you personally lose but so the odds are in the houses favour.
these games are for mugs or people who have enough money to lose on a good nights entertainment.

p.s here is a link at the bottom of the page regarding resposible gambling....gl
