without reads have to call and re assess on river
  • edited May 2012
    Any reads?

    Bet flop bigger

Meh I'd be tempted to jam, but prob flat readless

Assuming the Villan has a flush

you have 10 outs, 1 x 9 and 3 x 3, Jack and King.  With the river to come you are have 22% chance of filling your boat or hitting Quads .  1 in 5 roughly

you need to bet £3.38 to win £14.65  1 to 4.5.  Its marginal but depending on how much you put the other player on a flush comes into it.

I would call in this position.... But then I do lose... A LOT

Against this player you should call the re raise knowing you are behind and be prepared to lay down if the river doesn't house you up.

I don't mind this spot. As JOCKBMW pointed out, you have great odds to cal and great odds to improve to a full house. They prob have a flush here the vast majority of the time in my opinion, not every time though. If you call and fold river if you don't pair up on river, then I believe this will be a massively profitable situation for you, given the stack sizes, if you get a full house on the end, you may get all their or most of their chips on the end if they have a flush.

It's not marginal at all. As you said Jock, he's getting better than 4/1 on his money and is about 4/1 to house up. It's clearly a +ev call even before taking account of implied odds.

The bet-sizing is the matter for real discussion. You bet half-pot on the flop, then 3/4 pot after the flush comes in on the turn. I would prefer that you either do that the other way around or just carry a consistent betting line through the streets.

As others have said; in a vacuum it's best to call and look to house up on the river. Value bet pretty strong if you hit...

As everyone else has said, call and hope the board pairs, don't put any more money in on the river.
  • edited May 2012
Yeah its not even a question about folding the turn. You are getting even odds on the call and very good implied odds with the amount he has behind, as you stand good chance to get the lot if the board pairs and he does have the flush. If it doesn't pair then think have to C/F, even thoughts it possible he has a hand like Kj the flush is more likely.

Thanx all, some very good points made again.

Dont think anyone mentioned the mighty Q 10 ( suited of course! )

Cant believe oppo raised my comedy bet on the river lol!!!!

It was a sigh call, and as some of you say, i should have folded. thx again.

Bold 1, and bold 3  don't really make sense in the same paragraph, and bold 2 kind of feels like the opposite of what you are doing or have done before. But hey maybe I'm reading it wrong. :)

What are you doing on river?

Betting 30p is pointless imo, he's always giving to raise better.

I also wouldn't be as sure as  most that river is always c/f unimproved readless

  • edited May 2012
Bet more on flop for which is very wet, halp-pot is way too small.

On turn he kindly gives you great odds so call and hope for paired board.

EDIT : Also don't donk bet 30p on river it serves no purpose, just check and fold.
