I record my hands played using the hand history section on SKY and using Microsoft Excel to record everything.
Just had a session 4 tabling NL10:
Then things turned round on a deepstack where an opponent decided to take a weird line with QQ post flop, by making pot size bets on turn/rvr with the over pair, when there was 4 to straight and a flush out. I tank called the straight for a £26 pot.
Things aren't going as well as a few days ago, but still winning in some marginal spots. Hope my luck continues!
on 1218 C4Ps this month, so that will be a nice £12.18 for the road.
I'll read yours if you read mine....Ha Ha!
I can't see us stepping on each others toes as i don't want to play cash and/or grind. I'm just aiming to learn the 'basics' and improve my game. Those tables would smell me coming(fishy NOT body odour, may i add!).
Did you start to learn last year or have you been playing a while. Your sheet shows no of hands played. Is that on the site or did you just count. I could get a VPIP statistic easily then couldn't i? I see it on programmes and i'd like to know mine. Aggression factor is another one but may be a chore to get. Ideas anyone?
Anyway, all the best mate. Good luck with the grind but i'm going for the fun and financially neutral way...not winning or losing a lot!!
Cheers
I first started playing when i turned 18. I turn 19 in 2 weeks so ill have been playing for around about a year.
I recorded number of hands per session by going to 'hand history' and at the bottom it says how many hands where played. Be careful it includes hands where you where sat at the table but was not dealt in (i.e. at end/start of joining tables) so i subtract those from my total.
So far i have played 3807 hands since starting last week. This allows me to identify my bb/100, which i'm hoping over 100,000 hands to be ~5bb/100, maybe 3bb/100 over such a large sample would be decent.
I'm planning on moving upto NL20 in the not so long future, what are peoples opinions on this? Wait till i have a larger hand sample and can be sure that im beating NL10 or move up and if i lose say 3-4 buy-ins at NL20, move back down and grind them back and go again? i'd like to hear peoples opinions on this since i'm eager to move away from the micros where the rake is at 7.5%
Heres a question for discussion: can i afford to play in the odd satellite for the main events on some nights? should i play the quaters which are usually ~£2 or can i afford to play the semis at ~£5
Good luck.
P.S. Played against you briefly this afternoon we had some intresting clashes but never got to showdown so real notes on you yet
yes, i'm particularly interested in what you had when i 3bet you from the small blind and you 4bet shoved. I'll tell if you tell?
Good Luck, and happy grinding.
Finished my first year of uni officially today, with my last exam being this morning. It went well. Now i can fully concentrate on poker going forward.
This session was a weird one, 3-4tabling NL10 didn't really lose any big pots, but was losing alot of little 10-20bb pots, with the same token i was winning big pots in small doses. 3 pots winning just under a buy-in each.
Another annoyance was having 2 walks in the big blind holding Aces, 2nd time i had a fairly tilted player in the small blind. So was sad to see him fold.
A not so shabby £7.43 profit in all.
Heres a summary of NL10:
Anyway, i 5 tabled NL10 for 40 minutes ending up 2 and a fifth buyins up. Big pots come in the way of; house v flush and Kings holding after i shoved pre and was called by Qk.
Heres the stats:
C4P = +21
Any advice for how to liven things up on here as my thread doesn't get half the popularity as some of the others.
you could turn it into some sort of challenge, that way you will have a starting place and finishing place to aim for.
why not withdraw from yout b/roll and do something like a £100 to £1000 cash challenge?
just my suggestion.
anyway, whatever you decide best wishes and good luck.

Maybe, NL10 to NL50. Since, i have a shot-taking roll for NL20 so i'm heading the right way. I'll think about it.
Id be happy with a bankroll where i could play all the low stakes games NL4 - NL50 comfortably (~2k), wouldn't we all!
I think its achievable, measurable, and do-able in a reasonable time frame.
Watch this space.
But, thats poker. Aslong as you try to make the best decisions. Profit looks after itself.
I'm happy with the way things are going and the most important thing is i'm enjoying my poker.
