P.s  You have posted this in the general poker section.

There is a section called 'the poker clinic' for hands to be posted in,  where you will find lots of people willing to give you advice.     Look forward to you posting more hands.

I think you just get unlucky

You raise pre TICK (perhaps make it 100, personally I like the 2.5x but if someone with 74 feels the need to call then perhaps it needed to be higher but you didn't know that)

You 3 bet flop TICK showing obvious strength and he feels the need to call with second pair

You 3 bet jam the turn TICK giving him 2.5 / 1 pot odds he feels the need to call with third pair and flush draw with no implied odds here he should fold as he is 4/1 to hit

    He gets lucky

I think you play it fine, just walk into a calling station who gets lucky, ask him to play cash

Moving your post to clinic, better expert analysis there!

Not unlucky, you played it bad by not being able to dodge a club.

4:1 with just the flush draw, but slightly better if trips or two pair wins the hand as well. So he isn't far off the pot odds on turn, but he shouldn't really have been in hand after flop anyway. Some people won't lay down a pair though, and/or draw. So not that surprising sometimes when they call even when they shoudn't as lot of people play that game with no clue.

So to OP. Just glad that you get calling stations even if on this occasion you got sucked out on, most times it won't be the case. You played it fine seeing his blocker bets for what they were.. IE he had nothing and was trying to slow you down.

Yeh thinking back I should have, Maybe then my shove on the turn would make him think more about calling with a draw?

    Thanks
