The 1m handicap at Nottingham today (4.20) is full of interesting horses with the potential to improve. One of the more interesting ones is Feelthedifference, whose jockey became involved in a protracted barging match at Newmarket last time, and she's certainly interesting, but the rain that has been falling at Nottingham may not be in her favour. The horse for whom everything seems to be coming together in this race, however, with 10mm rain having fallen by 8am this morning and more expected, looks to beSTELLAR EXPRESS . Her ideal circumstances seem to be making the running on soft or easy ground with a rail to her left - she has a tendency to edge left - and when she encountered these circumstances over this course and distance last October, she absolutely bolted up, beating two horses that had been at the top of their game, the field strung out at wide intervals and the time almost a second quicker than Wrotham Heath (who on yesterday's evidence is probably a Pattern performer) achieved in the 2yo maiden, and 1.2 seconds faster than the other division of the maiden. She shaped better than the result at Newbury last time, one of several to force too strong a pace towards the far side in a race where hold-up horses on the stands side came through to dominate, and she's now only 6lb higher than for that course and distance demolition job last year, so she looks well overpriced this morning.
