PLAYING LIVE, HOW DO YOU CONDUCT YOURSELF

Is it best to go into a live tournament cocky, confident, be the table captain or quiet, say nothing, put on a hood an glasses, give no info or just be normal and nice.

I've played live like 3-4 times, and was really quiet for most of the time, but only because the whole table was pretty chavvy and i don't care for chavs.

Just whatever works for you, don't really think it matters much.

if its just a friendly low stakes live game just be yourself have a few drinks and enjoy yourself! if its a moreserious live tournament, better to be quiet methinks :)

The simple answer is to be the one that you are most comfortable with. The image you project is less important than the reads that you can get from other players. The most important thing is to watch all the hands being played and to take mental notes on each player at the table. Then you can adjust your playing style to suit your opponent. Try to give as little information away yourself and NEVER show your cards unless you have to because this can be used against you.

Also played a handful of times live, and i agree with ladyfingers as my table is always full of chavs, And they are always the agressor. Table image is crucial as these player have no idea how there coming across to read, and want to get it over and done with asap so they can get back to the street corner.

Get drunk, leer at the waitresses, tell near-the-knuckle jokes, indulge in general boorish behaviour and do lots of coffee-housing and angle-shooting. It's just more fun that way.

Not sure how you'd look Torryladd. But when my wife made the final live stages of an online tournament a couple of years back, she dressed in a low cut thing and acted just like a laydee. Think the guys were too busy looking at the cleavage to play her properly, and she eventually finished 12th even though she was scared stiff of playing live lol. Maybe you should try that, but please shave the chest first lol

Just leave the sunglasses at home. And whatever you do, do not wear any poker branded clothing, it is a massive sign that you are a donk.

The players who turn up in sunglasses and with a FTP shirt on tend to be the droolers that populate the £5 rebuy tournies.

Definitely don't wear sunglasses, I was playing a friendly live game a while back, and wore sunglasses for a joke. My mate kept on calling/raising me whenever I was playing a hand, and he invariably won. I asked how he was managing to read me so well, his response? I can see your cards through the reflection off your glasses...
