Some people have no respect or class.

edited June 2012 in Poker Chat
I am so disappointed after playing on the site this evening. A player who I will leave unnamed was so rude and his friend who was watching but not playing were both unnecessarily rude and then had the classless style to be offensive when I was knocked out a little later. Will never be coming back to this site and believe my son when he says that this site is a disgrace and not worth wasting money on. So riled that this kind of behaviour is allowed and openly accepted. He said he is a regular player on here so I guess he can get away with it. I had heard the regulars get special treatment but didn't know it was taken to extremes like this. First and last post.

    No name and shame then?

    Report it to customer care.

It's not accepted from any player.

Oh no, someone was rude to you.....whats the world coming to.

i will name and shame myself ,people who know me on this site know  i always respect my fellow players but in this case i flopped a sett of 9s against her kings and ended up taking her out the main ,but instead of saying well played she started to berate me for calling pre flop on the button after i raised and she reraised in the bb standard play ,and if i missed my sett it still left me over 50 bbs . i didn`t call her any names just stuck up for myself and maybe i did go a bit far and if it caused offence i apologise but i was wound up as i thought i played the hand perfectly and trapped her and for her to berate me was unjustified sky are welcome to check the text between us i have nothing to hide ....
and heres a example of what she said to me
    tank_fold> I understand your a clueless muppet
to be fair she probably has a point

Laughing at a player being kicked out the tourney is no what I would describe as classy.Especially when you have luckboxed them from first to out. You raised 1600 pre and I reraised to 5,500. You called with 99. I'd say that was speculative at best, not the perfect recollection that you have of the hand. As far as I was aware it was only just feasable to set mine with 100bb plus. You had around 50bb. You then had the cheak to laugh at me after the hand and then laughed at me and were rude whilst showing off to your friend when I was dumped out the tourney 10 mins later. I'd say thats classless. No need to rub it in. If you thought your play was perfect fine but to continue to fire jibes at me constantly after I asked you to be quiet several times is unnecessary. I'll be another of the many leaving this site and looking for pastures new. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Wish I had seen your edited post with the add on at the end.
  • edited June 2012
As you can tell from the wording of the add-on part, it is a reply to something you said. Its funny how your selective memory about the hand also stretches to the conversation too!

i agree it was out of order for me to have a dig at u when u got knocked out and for that i do appologise totally out of character for me but u have to understand i was wound up for you berating my play which i feel i did nothing wrong we all get bad beats although i dont class this as a bad beat seeing as u called a all in on a paired board, anyway i do apologise for my part in this and hope u don`t leave the site . and i didnt laugh at u after the hand i did type in ul then u started moaning at me and sky

    Yawn.

Not going to condone anything that either player may or may not have said in the chat box, but he pays his buy-in, he can play how he wants. If he wants to call a 3bet with Pocket 9s, that's up to him.

ultimately it is not important, unless you have an ego problem.
you can switch chat off if you like but..... you really have to learn, deep down inside not to care, whilst simultaneously wanting to win even if circumstances won't allow.
and if it's too boring to grasp that now you will do later anyway.
people only play this game to exploit the ignorance of their competitors for mindless cash that they probably spend on food or bills.
    rock'n'roll  :)

I must admit when someone berates your play it does wind you up. I called a 3-bet on cash tonight with KJs. Flopped tp, rivered top two but made a straight for the villain's AQ.

What thanks do I get for shipping my chips over to him - "that call pre-flop was laughable" - sorry tank fold, but if you chastise the oppo's play you mustn't be surprised if you p.i.s.s them off. It's only natural.

sir sir he called me a name tell him off!

Seriously get a grip do you think the world if full of nice people, teddy bears, pretty flowers and rainbows! If you can't hack a bit of stick in a chat box on a poker site you don't have much backbone. If he said something that offended you just report him.

    Jesus, some people are unreal.

Quote from tankfold " As far as I was aware it was only just feasable to set mine with 100bb plus" Really? Thats where I've been going wrong then. I've got to be more or less chip leader before I start set mining.
Like Dohhhhhhh says its seems to have gone both ways. Please remember that respect is not a god given right it has to be earned and I have never known Unbpower to be anything but curteous at the table.
But you are right about him being a clueless muppet. He's from Yorkshire.

lol this looks about right to me.
i have NEVER understood why people think poker is a social game.
it's pretty much the most anti-social game going. it's about as social as boxing but with money instead.
don't believe me ? then how come poker players have to be encouraged to seek out other poker players for company because 'it's important for the development of their game to find people to discuss hands with'.
jeez how sad is that ?

Poker is a social game, unless your name is Borinloner :)

Seriously though, the fun to be had in live sit and goes with Team Knight Poker and co. is just brilliant... serious poker is about grinding for money yes, but i am a strong believer in the fun factor also, and i think it's possible to have a balance between the two...

Just because someone is a serious grinder doesnt mean they have to be a miserable so and so..

sorry i didn't realise. for years now i've been under the delusion that poker is about exploiting peoples ignorance in an attempt to take their money and that is where the only pleasure lies.
i'm truly relieved that Team Knight Poker have sorted all that out. there was i really believing that poker players just pretend to have friends in the game.

If you have a go at somebody expect it back as you would in real life, surprised the thread is still open. Unbpower has always been a nice guy at the tables so should not have to defend himself on here.

    hi tank fold,
if u do play with your chat box on...
you will get just that, chat, some nice, mainly nice i would say,and sometimes as arguably in this case, not so nice.
you have that choice to keep it on or turn it off.
it,s also about give and take.
if u can,t take it,just turn it off.
as mentioned, this goes on whichever site u play on.
    end of...
    move on.
    :)

    +1

If you berate someone's play it winds them up, if you wind them up then they are going to bite back. Unbpower has always been a gent from my experience.

    Drop it and move on........

    The cheek!

'Tis true though. Out of the SPT and straight home. Why would I stick around to speak to all those horrible poker folks... about a game I love... and could probably improve in if I did talk about it.... Why would I do that? Makes no sense.

I'm not getting involved with the original post. I want people to like me.
