A few questions....

edited June 2012 in Poker Chat
I was just doing a bit of number crunching for c4p and was wondering if anyone could give me rough estimates for the following? Based on NL10 6max cash tables.

How many hands per table are seen?
How many hands are raked (i.e. how many go to flop)

If anyone could give me the minimum hands per table/raked hands per hour you would expect that would be useful too.

I ask all this because i was wondering how many hours i'd need to play to reach priority (10k+ c4p)

Would you say 50 raked hands per hour per table is easily achievable?

I'd say you're gonna be seeing abuot 80 hands per hour on most online cash tables, any stakes, and at these stakes you're likely to see 60+ of them getting to a flop (being raked).

So 60 hands per hour, per table ish that get raked. It will be up and down but yeah 50 should be easily achievable

Alot of people say books are useless and out of date these days, but I still think there's alot to be learnt from them in terms of getting the basics down, and getting a good solid game.

For tournament poker, I'd suggest 'Harrington on Holdem' or 'Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand At A Time' (there are 2 volumes of this, one for everything up to and including the bubble, and one for how to play once you're in the cash)

I'm not really sure what the best books are for cash poker, could probably do with someone telling me actually cos I wanna improve my cash game.

Hey Garry. I'm not aware of any cash game books that are worth reading but there must be some out there if you have time to browse amazon long enough.

There are loads of great cash game lessons freely available on youtube though. You can watch online pros play several tables at once and talk through their thought processes about playing a hand, using position, when to barrel a bluff etc, etc....look some up and spend a little time watching and learning and I'm sure you'll start to improve your game.
