Tournament buy-in levels?

Something we'd really like your feedback on please...

We've had some requests recently for some 'higher' buy-in tournaments during the day (typically the afternoon / early evening). Obviously we're not talking about 'big' buy-in tournaments, people tend to ask for the £10 to £20 level.

Now let's not get into whether £10 is high or low because the truth is for some people it is high, for others it is low. Either way, other than on an evening and main events etc, there are not many of these.

So here's the question, how would you prefer we fit these in the schedule?

Here's the challenge - because we have to balance the schedule it would normally mean something else comes out. Why? Well we could in theory have lots of tournaments at many buy-in levels but then you spread the fields too thinly which people do not like.

However, lets say for example we replace a £2 / £3 tournament (of which there are many) with a £10 game, you know how it is, we'll almost certainly get people saying we're penalising lower level players. Even though there are many other games for them but not many (or any at times) for a bit higher.

So what would you think?

im happy for you to bring in the bigger buy ins with a guarentee and scrap the 1 minute roulette games and the £2.30 bounty omaha games as they dont get enough players in them

There will always be a backlash that there are not enough low level games, but after that has been taken into consideration, don't limit the buyins to £10 or £20; maybe have some £7.50 and £15 games so that the transition stages aren't too great, and offers a little more variety without breaking the bank.

I'll always advocate more, larger buyin tournaments, and I think the 10/15/20 range could be quite popular with 1k/1.5k/2k gtd etc

Why not, if there is demand.  I'd like to see more sats too, so if you have £10-£20-£30 games / tournaments, with sats the evening before, or sit n go sats, we can get a chance to play them for £2 - £4 or £6.  i often get home too late to play a sat for a bigger entry game the same evening. Bigger entry tournaments don't have to have gteed minimum payouts either.

Having played a few of the wednesday night Timed Tournament challenges, personally I would vary the options available. Currently there are only £5.50 from the £3.30 @ 19:05 until the £3.30 @ 21:55 Three of which are 15 mins long.  Replace 1 with an £11 buy in of 30mins & 1 with a £3.30 again of 30mins. This should appeal to a wider range of bankrolls & also I feel the 30mins will have more appeal than the 15mins.

Disagree - If you're going to replace them with anything, replace them with £1.10 Omaha, non-BH tournaments. Need to keep the smaller buy-ins to encourage people who haven't played Omaha before to give it a go. 

Also, the Roulette games are something that I'm not naive enough to play, but with 1 minute blinds, they're so short, that I doubt them being there will have any impact on liquidity. If people want to have a gamble with 60p, and it's not affecting the size of the fields in other tournaments, then that's fine by me.

I would actually suggest a couple of bigger Omaha tournaments - Maybe not every day to begin with, but definitely every week, or maybe on show nights or something. There's no big Omaha tournaments on here except for the UKOPS one a while back, and whenever I look on the Omaha cash tables, most of the games running are 50PLO or 100PLO. Most people who you see playing 50PLO and above probably couldn't care less about the current Omaha tournaments on here as for someone who would be rolled to play 50PLO, the buy-ins are too small for the money to mean anything to them, so maybe a £11 a couple of times a week, with a weekly £22 Omaha tournament?

+1, this is one of the things I like about the Lucky Sevens concept, it fills that big jump between £5 and £10.

Idk if it's relevant to tournaments, but if you look at the DYMs on here, the £16.50s don't run that often, and the £22s are far more frequent, so idk whether the same would happen to tournaments, that's maybe the only down side to having £7.50 and £15 tournaments.

Two things which I would like to add:

1) There's a half an hour gap between 6:15 and 6:45, the only thing in there is a 30 minute Timed Tournament. I think if you were to put a normal tournament in there, you probably wouldn't even need to remove anything? 

2) I've also never seen the £11 PLO8 games run, there's two of them at 19:55 and 21:55. I would love to see the 19:55 replaced by a really cheap (£1.10 or £2.20) PLO8 tournament in the evening - The most common thing on here that I see regarding PLO8 is "Can we have a cheap PLO8 tournament in the evening as I'm out during the day and want to try PLO8".

its BR dependent,for me it is anyway"those swings eh" ..also doesnt it depend on the traffic at certain times of the day..but yeah id like to see some juicy mtts early doors

Structures of tournys needs looking at much more than the buy ins.

The lucky777 structure is awful (I don't mean it's too fast) but on 6 of the 7 days in a week, it's the only turbo tournament with a guarentee above £400.

Insist on having BH's, coz people want them, cool, why not have turbo ones? With a proper turbo structure?

Velocities between 7-10pm, instead of 4 velocities between 10pm and 11pm?

Do we need velocities, speeds, and scarys? I don't even know the difference because all the speed structures are different?

Just clean it up, I've said it before, I'm sure Scotty would put a proper tourny schedule in the lobby 10x better than the one we have now if you just pay him an hours overtime or something to do it.

As a small bankroll player i would not be playing them so your more than welcome to add them.With the caveat that they do not replace the few low level buy-in freezeouts that have survived in the day time schedule.

I would like to see a £7-£10 timed tournament each evening and then maybe a big £25-£50 weekly timed tournament. I do remember a few weeks ago, I think over the Jubilee period there was a £4k timed, I feel something like this weekly would be great, maybe not a £55 BI though but certainly bigger than usual with sats throughout the week into this event. I don't usual play BH games so wouldnt want to comment on those but it would be great if everyone was catered for and there were adjustments to Timed, BH, Deep Stack and Turbo tournaments.

Please more 40 50 60 £ buy-in tournies, since there is absolutely nothing between between 33 and 110,  except the £55 primo. 

Any time between 6 and 11pm,  even with low gurantees.  Pleaseeeeeee

Agreed that i would like to see some £30/£40/£50/£60 buy in mtts at around 7pm. They do not need to be gtd,so no risk of overlays to sky, if they get 20 runners then so be it, first place is still a decent win.

more omaha tourneys with a guarentee they did have omaha on a friday £500 gtd for £5.50 buy in liked this tourney but think u took it of because there was always overlay this site is not the best for omaha mtts but love to see more
