Competition - Win a Primo Seat (WINNER ANNOUNCED)
Hi everyone
A fun competition for you where we'll pick a winner and give them a £55 Primo Seat. We will also look at implementing the idea! So what do you need to do?
Basically, the challenge is to design your own loyalty promotion!
What do we mean by that?
Well here you will see some of the promotions that are running on Sky Poker at the moment (with things like Cash for Points etc being regular fixtures). We've done others in the past, you may remember things like -'Poker Premiership', 'TKO', 'Freeroll Festival', 'Play the Nation', 'Easter Bounty Hunter' etc.
These promotions are meant to be fun, intersting and add a twist to playing at Sky Poker. They are also aimed at giving things away and rewarding loyalty, the same as any customer promotion for any other product. We want you to design one of your own.
We want you to be creative and different but to help and to make them realistic and practical, here's a few 'guidelines' to help:
1) Please give it a name
2) Explain the promotion
3) Explain the rewards / prizes (up to £500)*
4) Explain how people qualify or earn the prizes
* We've said up to £500 just so that people dont say unrealistic numbers and so that they are all consistent with each other.
You have until noon on Friday 3rd August to submit your idea on this thread and we will announce the winner soon after!
Feel free to comment on each others ideas too.
Thanks
Sky Poker Team
Hint - remember, it's important that you can easily explain the promotion so that people understand it quickly and easily. Make it exciting too.

A) if they play on the site for a certain amount of time 5 + days a week.
From a personal point of view, i have probably made over 5000 points for the last 2 and a half years + (over 16000 points several times)
Due to priority +3 month rate change, after one month where i was unable to make 10k points, due to work and other commitments, there is now absolutely no point in me trying to re-gain the priority status, as it would take 4 months of getting over 10k points, to get me back at the bonus level i was getting for all of 2010, 2011.
The priority freerolls are always on a tuesday , which is a night i am unable to play. Although the vegas freeroll package was without question a great reward for TommyD, it is again absolutely no advantage to people under 21, and people who have no intention of spending 2 weeks in vegas, due to work , family etc...
So now sadly i choose to play alot of my poker elsewhere.
I feel i am "looked after" no better than someone who joined the site last month , plays one day a week, and makes 1000 points.
monthly loyalty freeroll
qualification entry requirement = play on site at least 10 days in the month
starting stack = number of hands played in the month
prize structure applied to top 10% of players
Ill be back with my own idea later need time to think
What about a Mini Max promo?
If you play in the mini event three times or more a week, you qualify for a free roll where seats are available for main events the following week.
Or if you want it to run alongside C4P you could make it 12 mini's a month to qualify for the free roll.
For the high rollers you could have a similar qualification using main event entries and have a monthly freeroll for players who have entered 12 main events or more offering an SPT seat as the prize.
1) Name: HiLo HiLo its off to cash we go
2) It will be based around a series of PLO8 tournaments run twice daily. During the afternoon and the evening at either the 1-10 or 2-20 buyin level. This will make it fine for most peoples bankrolls and not discourage new players.
3) the prize of 500 will be in a freeroll for participants in these tournaments.
4) Qualification is simple. For everyone of the tournaments that a player enters( up to a max of 1 per day) they receive 100chips in the freeroll. This means you will have players with anything from 100 chips up to the maximum of 3000/3100.
With any luck this would also increase the traffic in this beautiful variant of poker.
For every 100 S&G's you play at one level, eg. 100 @ £2.25 / 100 @ £11 etc, you get a free entry for that level.
Simples.
*Edit - maybe make it 200 games for Heads Up.
How about a "sky players championship"make it a 10 month promotion for players with 1.000 points or more.
Each month we have a play-off,chip allocation = the points players accumalated over the period maxing out at 5.000 chips.
League fomat top ten finishers get 10 pts win and so forth.
Prize for the players champion is representing sky at vegas as champion, now i know this exceeds the limit but with promotion and tv coverage it should be a winner.
lenny:)
But a good reward scheme would be based on people's win-rate/ROI. If the system work out ROI, surely your system could say 'this person has played 129 DYMs this month and won 74 of them' or something of the like?
Call it, 'The ROI King'... so break it down into say 4 categories so the most possible people have the chance to benefit from it...
DYMs <£5.50
DYMs />£5.50
HU SnGs <£5.50
HU SnGs />£5.50
Run it every month, best ROI (or win percentage) for each category gets £90, 2nd best for each category gets £35. Say you would have to play a minimum of 200 HU SnGs and a minimum of 100 DYMs to qualify.
It means it isn't only available to high rollers, it means you don't have to put MASS volume in to be the best, but at the same time, people who put in MASS volume are at no disadvantage.
Here’s a few ideas,
1) MegaBluff Month
This is a challenge which runs for a month and as it extends to all MTT’s at all levels it should reward the most loyal players.
If you win a hand with 72 offsuit- then post up the hand ID and number of chips won on the challenge thread. At the end of the month the nine players with the highest total chips counts win a cash prize- £10 £20 £30 £40 £50 £60 £75 £90 and £125 for 1st place.
2) Timed Trial
This week long event can be a marathon or seven 15min sprints- it’s up to you, and it will definitely get people playing the timed tournaments and reward loyalty!
It’s basically a 24 hour, 7 day version of Rich’s challenge. For each 24 hour period people post their top return on investment from a timed tournament on the challenge thread, and whoever has the highest average ROI over the seven days- wins free entry to every main event for a week!
3) DYM Decathlon
A simple challenge to reward sit and go players of all levels.
The first 10 players to string together 10 (back to back) double your money wins are rewarded with free entry to the Saturday main event.
2: Play the main and mini every night of 1 week in august i.e 6th-12th. Have a league to see top 6, but must play in at least 2 mains and 2 minis in that week, with league points for both. Then the top 6 of league at end of week, plus all winners of main and mini get automatic entry into the freeroll final, so 20 players play for the £500 prizepool, with prizes awarded for the top 5.
3: Top 6 in the league and the 14 winners of the main and mini (get automatic places) to the final freeroll.
4: To qualify must enter at least 2 mains and 2 minis in the week, and finish in top 6 of league for that week or win any of the main or mini events for that week.
Hope you understand what i am trying to come up with here, as i think great idea to boost numbers in the nights main and mini events over the summers weeks.
And i hope SKY or the FORUM would do this for the future too.
GL all at the tables.
Or possible to play over the week and best 2 score from each main or mini count for league points.
So only need to play in 2 of each, but more if needed to get better league postion.
What about increasing the C4p when tournaments exceed the guarantee by more than 20%
Sky would benefit from the greater than expected rake. Players would benefit from incresed prizepool and inflated C4P.
Instead of shall I enter, players will be thinking how fast can I enter when they see tournaments over subscribed.
player's play in Tournament named after Olympic Events the top 3 get medals gold silver bronze medals equals chips gold=3000 silver=2000 bronze=1000 you can win more then one medals G+S+B+B=7000 chips for the BIG final (up to £500)
to play the final tournament people need a medal
Traffic on the site really low from around 3am until about 9am so surely it makes sense to make use of these wasted hours and boost site numbers ( as i type this at 7.27am on site 218 seated 63 ).
A sort of MEGAGRIND promo could do it where players get rewards for playing in a certain numbers of mtts, stts or being seated at cash tables for a certain number of hours per week.
Anyone playing in more than x amount of mtts per week receives a 10% c4p bouns, more than x amount of sngs or playing at a cash table for more than x amount of hours and in each case you could give greater rewards of 15% and 20% to any players who go well above these targets and reach the higher tiers.
Final table Freeroll
All ft players from the main and the mini (for the whole month) enter a freeroll with a £500 guarantee prize pool with only the final table paid !!!!
Cracked Aces & Kings
Anyone who gets their Aces or Kings cracked in the min and main for the month will again enter a freeroll with seats for various tournies* rather then cash for the final 10% - 15%
* ie - 1st Primo seat, 2nd 12k BH and so on
was only an idea, so mybe just do it with the mini's everynight then, but using same concept i gave before.
wouldn't cost alot as would only need to play at least 2, but greater chance if playing in more.
but a final with 20 in and top 5 payout still sounds good to me.
1st: £200
2nd: £140
3rd: £90
4th: £50
5th: £20
Sky would be worse off doing some sort of DYM loyalty league bla bla micro stakes, because most general (not active in community) players would be disinterested. Furthermore sky don't have as much interest to get people playing small stakes.
The main event is known to all on sky, from forum, to players who watch 861, or new players.
I think they should celebrate and generate interest around the flagship tournaments that earn them the most revenue and are generally the most widely viewed and anticipated tournament day in day out.
Good idea Ms-Tree
Unfornately this will never happen as it doesn,t really awared loyalty and everyone would start joing up before their birthday costing Sky to much
It depends what you mean by loyalty - Getting so many pts a month (preferred the old c4p scheme) or how long youve been playing on the site and how often.
How a bout a forum freerolll every month for thos posters who have posted x amounts of posts? - or something among those lines
If you play a lot and earn the points then your a loyal customer if you manage to get to 500 points you get entered into a 500 points freeroll. If you manage to get to 1000 C4p you get entered into the 1000 freeroll and so on.
And the prize would be a free entry into the final. So 2 players from each of the C4P levels micro players and big rollers would all compete against each other in a 10 seater sit n go final which could be televised.
500 C4P + freeroll prize fund - 2 final Battle royale tickets
1000 C4P + freeroll prize fund - 2 final Battle royale tickets
2000 C4P + freeroll prize fund - 2 final Battle royale tickets
3000 C4P + freeroll prize fund - 2 final Battle royale tickets
6000 C4P + freeroll prize fund - 2 final Battle royale tickets
Winners from each of above rounds plays in the final ten seater sit n go with a nice prize fund of £500 or what ever sky wants to put up and bragging rights for the winner and a real battle for each level of player.
Its simple it gives players a real boost to do well on C4P and play more and existing loyal customers get something for there existing loyalty and the prize at the end is worth winning at any level.
Are you not just rewarding the best players on the site?
My personal opinion is there is a place for your suggestion but perhaps as an incentive for the Hi Rollers earning over 10,000 points a month or maybe it could be used as an incentive for players who fall short by a couple of 1,000 points each month.
But I do think there's value in your suggestion!
