Sky Poker Increased Time Bank

edited July 2012 in Poker Chat
Hi id like everyones thoughts on what they think of the introduction of a time bank facility in sky poker games and also another 20 seconds for each decision.  Whilst i have no problem playing about 4 tables at once on sky i also play on another site and could perhaps be playing 8 tournaments on their and i find im timing out quite a bit on sky as the clock runs down fast.  On the other site i play on there is plenty of time to make a decision and also a 1 minute time bank.  I am quite new to multitabling as i usually didnt play that many tables before perhaps 4 at once max and i feel it is an issue on this site.

    Personally I disagree.

Hand-for-hand has gone some way to solve stalling, but there are still many out there in tournaments who abuse the time bar to the max. Satellites in particular would become a nightmare.

The existing 20 seconds is ample in my opinion. A timebank would assist high volume multi-table grinders, but I believe it would be an unwelcome irritation to the majority of players on Sky.

I play those big MTTs on other sites with timebanks and I hate them.  They activate all of the time when people are away with checking away or when people want to stall/hollywood.  In the mid stages of the tournament they kill the clock.  Maybe it wouldn't be so bad on a 6max site but I still don't want them in personally.

If it was for just for cash then I can see a case but they can't roll out for one without the other without people getting rightly annoyed.

For what it's worth only once on my whole time on SkyPoker have I wanted extra time in a MTT to think.  Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I think even an extra 10 seconds would be good, sometimess when making a big decision there is not enough time to think over the hand. I don't think the extra is essential but I thyink it would be good. :)

Yes i understand what your saying Tommy with people hollywooding and stalling to break into the bubble.  Perhaps a time bank may not be the solution but possibly another 10 or 15 seconds for each decision would be helpful as i seem to time out loads on my sky tables when for example i have about 8 mtts from another site at the same time or if not i will definately have to reduce my tables to see how many i am able to cope with at once.

I can see your side of the arguement as well Bear.  This issue is personal opinion as far as I'm concerned.  You probably play more tables than me but I cry a little when I see timebank after timebank being activated on that other site, sometimes around 400 before the bubble.  If it was introduced here I would hope that the increments to the timebank are not included (on other sites you get an additional X seconds after every few levels).  In long tournaments you end up with few minutes on there, and when you get near the bubble, oh my....

I asked about timebanks about 2 years ago, so I wouldn't hold your breathe for any decisions soon.

Keep the timers as they are but a timebank that only kicks in if the player clicks it would be perfect (but probably impossible) I've seen too many wasted if a player is away.

    Grow up !

Time banks should be put into cash and mtt's, it cannot and shouldn't be one or the other. I understand the reasons players will disagree with these being brought in, but it works both ways. Not having time banks is giving players an edge over others just as having time banks gives mtt grinders an edge. I personally think they should be brought in, but I don't think it will ever happen.

I have been 8 to 10 tabling for years on here never once felt the need for more time. Personally would hate more time people take long enough.

I would prefer less time for decisions if anything.

I am not sure time banks are the best way forward but when I multi with other sites I do like the fact you get that ding warning (sorry too late to think of grown up words lol)

As far as I am concerned that would be a better then time banks
