In Response to Re: Sunday's live show - with James & Redmond (***OFFICIAL THREAD***) : The person will be selected at around 8pm. They will then be contacted etiher on the forum or by email to notify them of their selection. Louis Posted by Sky_Louis
Great to see Reds back on the show after a long break, an excellent analyst. I'm really looking for forward to the heads up cash - poker school section. I have added some questions on the subject below and if Redmond could answer any or all of the question during this section that would be fantastic, have a great show!
What would you recommend as a strategy to become a heads up cash specialist and move up the levels? Is it possible to work up from the micro stakes e.g. 2p/4p or is it better to start with HUSNGs as the rake is relatively high at those levels.
How many hands a week would you recommend as a target for a player looking to improve?
Would you recommend railing other HU cash players as a good way to learn?
Do you think playing HU cash will improve your 6 max cash game and vice versa?
Would you say maths/odds or psychology/reading your opponent are the best aspects to work on for heads up cash?
What are the main adjustments you would make when moving from MTTs to heads up Cash?
Are there any books or other resources you would recommend?
what tilts redmond ermmmm knowing how much u win its spent by ya gf on clothes and shoes lol joking aside i think hit n runners may tilt redmond have a good show guys
ALOT of stuff used to tilt me ... but after both being a dealer and playing for years not much gets to me! I think the only thing that really bugs me is the constant slow-rolling when 2 players are all in. Youve put your chips in, so flip your cards over and let the dealer do his thing!!
BTW Redmond just hit the nail on the head. Ive had it on a few occasions where Ive heard someone whisper something and its influenced my fold in more than one high profile pot. Had I not heard it, theres a fair chance Id have called and gone on to win quite a large sum and hence it threw me onto massive tilt so much so that my playing partner actually dragged me out of the casino!
hi guys hope yous have a good show tonight I satellite into primo for £2.64 so looking forward to playing tonight. 2 weeks ago i was out 2nd hand ma kk was no match 4 aces lol (aipf obv) also if you want to analyze my play in the primo that would be excellent thanks liamboi11 Posted by liamboi11

What tilts me is rudeness from other players who rant and rave about everything they think you've done wrong in the hand, when they are actually showing their own weakness in the mental game by losing control in the first place.
In terms of what tilts Redmond, I would imagine he is at a high enough level to be fairly unaffected by the environment and behaviour of other players. I would expect however he sets high standards for himself and is likely to get titled if he feels he is having an off day and is not playing up to his usual standards and letting weaker players get the best of him.
I've been keeping strict records of HU SnGs since start of last year and I'm slowly making profit.
I've recently tried playing HU Cash and find the times when I take an oppoants stack the amount I've lost in rake is more than I'm paying in registation fee?
In that respect should I stick to SnGs or is there some trick im missing in HU cash to reduce amount I'm losing over all to the rake?
What adivce would redmond offer inparticular to an mtt player whos winning at lower stakes but struggles when moving up a level? This is something ive struggled with, and ive went from being a small winning player to a heavy losing player. Ive tried dropping back down and results returned to normal, but when i moved up again i started to struggle.
James, Redmond, thanks very much for reading and answering all my questions, it's been a great show for me, and thanks to Sky for providing great oppurtunities for players such as myself to learn from the experts, much appreciated!
In Response to Re: Sunday's live show - with James & Redmond (***OFFICIAL THREAD***) : originally planned for 9:55pm, i understand that the olympic schedulers are now considering delaying usain bolt's 100m final as it clashes so badly with greghogg's "my name is..." Posted by aussie09

Would just like to echo the above. Nowhere else can you get this kind of feedback, tutoring, honesty and clarity and all in almost real-time. Thanks ever so much guys/861
Still in the main and mini... hope I can make it to the cash.
Starting to play like a bit of a turnip now though however.
The issue ive had i dont think is psycological in the terms youve mentioned. Ive satted into higher events inc that even at DTD James mentioned MacMonster got to the final tasble in and finnsihed day 1C 2nd in chips behind Chris Brammer, so although i ran good i think this proves its not scared money.
The issue i have is say moving from £2 tournaments to £5 tournaments. At the times ive attempted to move up ive just not managed it. Ive satted into even bigger events example the event i mentioned above and countless main events and a couple of SPTs and ive never felt like the money has effected me, ive just played my normal game. Although i do think adapting to better opponents is an issue.
I tried moving to cash to try and combat variance which is what i origionally put it down to but being honest cash and me just dont get along.
The reason i asked is i just cant put my finger onto the reasons why now. I go from a decent winning player to a massive fish is the differance of one tournament buy in.
i think what would make red see RED would be a situation where a player angle shoots. I remember 1 example in particular where james was commentating on the EPT grand final where ivan frietez said raise on the river and only puts in a call and he had a FH and was madeto min raise. Other guy calls and loses with just top pair, and worse still he had already done it before in the tournament.
Thing that tilits redmond is some one getting a few buyins up and then just sitsout and leave, and trys to come back and play redmond later or another night
Hi james /redman not a brag just gen question finished in top 7 in the Lucky 7 tonight any chance for my free roll next Sunday as working nights till then, Thanks see you at SPT get my seat early doors, Leonard JLJ17 .

on the official olympic website forum they're all talking about greghogg's "my name is..."
