A1 PRESENTER!

yo!
    just viewed poker school on the channel you show and that presenter who was understudy to denise van outen on big breakfast "richard orford" why is he not on tele with the big boys? ie bbc, itv etc he his a exellant presenter. on the other hand "i love myself and iam so much cleverer than you" j hartington he could learn a lot from the former big breaky guy. just saying!

    I think comparing the two is a bit like comparing chalk and cheese, Windamon. Both of them are excellent in their fields, but you have to appreciate they are different fields. Rich has done mainstream TV in the past and continues to work outside of the industry. He's very much a TV man.

    James on the other hand is a poker afficionado. He works on other poker-related shows and is something of a recognised name in the industry. Why? Because he knows his stuff and his delivery style is something which is engaging - even if you don't 100% like it.

    Both of them are great at their jobs, but we have to appreciate their skill sets are somewhat different.

    That said, Hartigan hasn't won an SPT side event... :P

    I heard Richard went to a crossroads at midnight and sold his soul to Tikay, and has to spend the rest of etermity presenting with him.

    This may just be a rumour of course, as Tikay said Ricjard had a big future as the next Julian Clary on his autobiography show.

    Hartigan does alot of presenting and commentating live poker, you not seen him on any of the EPT shows on TV for instance?

    He definitely does have a very different style to Orford (not saying it's worse or better, depends what you prefer really) but we don't want a bunch of clones do we :)

    My opinion FWIW is that they are both very good presenters and thankfully different ones. Same would be boring wouldn't it? And talking about boring, let's talk about Phil Neal, eh? What an exciting player. 'Nuff' said...

    PS By the way, James Hartigan is on channel 4 tv right this second commentating on Pokerstars.co.uk Caribbean Adventure. He is very good and keeps me awake and interested at this ungodly hour. Poor Phil couldn't do that for 90 minutes...EVER!

    Hartigan is an acquired taste!
    but there's noone more enthusiastic or knowledgeable about his chosen subjects!
    All the presenters make the shows great! or why would we watch them?

    so your a fellow scouser eh! you should know that we scousers REFUSE to acknoledge mancs in any way shape or form. as far as were concerned nealy is the most decorated ply. oh and we have won the most leagues. lol.

    I like them both in different ways orford his a great presenter funny and great guy always good entertainment especially when its him n tikay together lol.

    hartigan is also great he always brings up good discussions that get interesting, very clear and i understand everything when he talks about poker and quite bluntly says what he thinks which is great especially in hands being shown on tv

    I,ve thought this  before about Orford, but it comes accrosss on screen that he really loves his job at Sky.

    I don,t want to make his head any bigger but Sky Poker wouldn,t be the same without Tikay and Orford

    As for Hartigan , i,ve had a pop at him in the past ( wrongly so ) but was suprised at how good he was doing the analyst bit a few weeks back and always hear his commentary on various TV poker programmes in which he always says it how it is (probably why he,s got so many gigs on poker commentry

    Richard is a very able TV presenter who happens to love poker (and you can tell by the amount he plays on here). Mr Hartigan is a very good poker commentator who knows the game. I can't testify to his analysis as I mised it on sky, but  I gather he was pretty decent.
