edited November 2012 in Poker Chat
As requested, this is going to be our thread for announcing revisions to tournament schedules, major updates on the software and other major news from Sky Poker.

As mentioned in another thread, we're not able to unveils the reasoning or details behind every decision (some of the information would be considered business-sensitive), but we'll do our best to let you know of the revisions made where possible.

We'll keep it locked and Sky staff and talent will post on here as and when there are bits of info for you all.

So, now would be a good time to introduce you to Sky_Joe, who is with Sky Poker crunching numbers, providing interesting little stats and eating way too many tuna sandwiches.

    Over to you, Joe!

    Hey Everyone,

The first event to report on this thread is the introduction of the brand new £1,000 Guaranteed Freezeout at 5pm TODAY.

This tournament will cost £33.00 to buy directly in, or you can satellite in for just £3.30 from one of our '£1k Gtd Direct' that offer up a guaranteed 3 seats into the tournament.

This is good old fashioned poker at its very best so I hope you enjoy:) Go to the lobby now to register.

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hey everyone,

With the HUGE £20k Super Roller running on Sunday evening, and a real shift in focus towards that this week, there have been a few tweaks to the tournament schedule.

-The £22 buy-in Bounty Hunter at 9pm will not run this week, instead the £20k Roller Semi will run in its place.

-The £1k Lucky 7's tournament is taking a break from the schedule and will not run this week

    - A brand new £20k Roller Super Sat will be appearing in the lobby shortly, with guaranteed seats into Sunday nights £20k Super Roller up for grabs.

So get your game heads on and make sure you get a seat into Sunday nights extravaganza, I'm sure it's going to be a great occassion and you don't want to miss out!

    Thanks,
    Joe

Last night's '£20k Roller Direct' proved popular and sold out some time before its start time.

This satellite is £6 to enter, guarantees 2 seats to the £20k Super Roller on Sunday and is only £6 to enter!

We've added another of these tournaments tonight so they run at 8.4pm and 9.15pm

    Kind Regards

We have also introduced a new £1,000 Bounty Hunter at 10pm with £22 buy-in. There will also be satellites running into this.

    Hey everyone,

There is a Football Freeroll in the lobby right now with all the Premiership teams in league order.

However, Chelsea and Reading do not play this weekend. The players that gain either Chelsea or Reading will receive a £5 free bet instead.

    Thanks a lot,

    Hey everyone,

We've added even more cash to the guaranteed prizepool of the monthly Super Roller, which now stands at £25,000! The event will take place on Sunday 30th September at 8pm.

You can satellite into the huge event all month long, starting from today!

There will be daily satellites running into a nightly semi-final at 9pm. The micro sats will be £5.30 to enter and the semi final will be £24 to directly buy-in.

So get yourself to the lobby and register for the event that nobody will want to miss!

Who will be the first to take their seat I wonder???

    Thanks a lot,

    Hey everyone,

The £25k Super Roller Semi-Final will no longer run nightly at 9pm. It will instead run weekly, on a Sunday evening at 9pm.

There will still be daily satellites that run into the Sunday night semi.

In the week leading up to the Main Event on Sunday 30th September, the semi-final will run nightly as opposed to weekly.

    Thanks a lot,
    Joe

    Morning everyone,

With the run up to the £25k Super Roller this Sunday (30th September) at 8pm, the satellite structure has slightly changed.

The £25k Roller Semi will now run every evening up until Sunday evening (when the semi-final will be at 6pm) at 8:45pm with 1 in 5 booking their place into the grand final.

Satellites will still run throughout the day to qualify for the Semi-Final.

With this change this week, the SPT Semi-Final will run on Sunday evening instead of nightly. Satellites and micro sats will run as usual but instead of making it into a nightly semi-final, winners will book their seat for Sunday nights showdown at 8:30pm.

    Thanks a lot,
    Joe

    Hi all,

Some news on the latest release that was put on site this morning:

Blocking Rail bird chat on Cash Tables

For some cash tables, chat restrictions have now been put in place. In order to chat as an observer (Rail Chat) you will need to have the equivalent of 30 big blinds (the table minimum for 95%+ of cash tables) for that table in your account balance.

For today, it will only be applied to  cash tables of £0.50/£1.00 and above, will be reviewed in due course
Obviously if you are seated and playing you are not affected.
Sit and go’s and tournaments are not affected by this.

Customers who cannot rail chat because of an insufficient balance will get this message:

Please note that to chat as an observer on this table you must have at least 30 big blinds in your account balance, which is the minimum buy-in for the majority of tables.

    Late Registration

If a customer has late registered and has been waiting on a waiting list for more than 3 minutes, we will automatically seat the entire waiting list at that time and shuffle the tournament accordingly to balance the tables where needed.

Again, the figure of three minutes may be reviewed and amended. We are looking to strike a balance between ensuring people on the Late Reg list aren’t waiting too long vs. making sure those in the tournament are not being moved too often.

Tournament Start Times – 1 minute increments

We can now schedule tournaments to run at 1 minute intervals if we wish, previously they had to be every 5 minutes. This means we’ll be able to add more tournaments into the schedule over time, with the most immediate beneficiaries being Satellites.

    Cash Table Lobby Filters

There have been a few changes around how the Cash Table Lobby Filters now work.

Heads up table have been removed from the ‘Regular’ filter
Heads up tables now have their own ‘Heads up’ Filter
The default filter will be ‘Regular’, although your personal preferences will be remembered when you return to the site
Tables are now always grouped by the max number of seats (2, 6, 10) which will make it easier to find a free table  – this is most noticeable under ‘All’ where heads up and 6 max tables are shown
Action and Deep filters have been removed for the moment but expect these to return soon.

    Hey everyone,

Having upped the guarantee of the £12,000 Thursday night Sky Sports Bounty Hunter to £15,000 we decided to review the tournament as a whole.

In light of this review, we have decided to make one small tweak.

We have implemented a slightly different blind structure that plays slightly slower than the older structure used in the past.

There are two reasons for this change:

-We realise that with such a large guarantee at stake, there should be more time to really play your way into the tournament, with less luck and more skill playing its part

-The new blind structure implemented is in line with all other 10 minute blind bounty hunters on the site at the moment. The old structure was very dated and had been attached to the Sky Sports Bounty Hunter for many years without review.

Hopefully you enjoy the new 10 minute blind structure, and any comments on the forum would be greatly appreciated.

We understand that the tournament is one of the most popular on the site and in no way would we want to jeopardise that, so therefore, for the time being, the new blind structure is just temporary and may be subject to change.

    Thanks a lot,

    Joe

    Morning all,

After in-depth review of the sit n go structure and schedule, we have now implemented a new prize payout to all 6 seater tournaments in the STT lobby.

After customer feedback, from now on, a 65:35 payout structure will replace the 75:25 structure currently in use.

This change will feed into the lobby throughout the day.

    Thanks a lot,

    Joe
