    Hi gang,

The gruesome twosome are back together in the house tomorrow evening (Tuesday 21st August) for five hours of LIVE poker analysis and taking potshots at each other.

Yes, it's myself, Richard Orford and that other bloke, Tony 'Tikay' Kendall.

We'll be on Channel 861 or on the live website stream from 7pm and here's what we'll be dishing up...

    7pm – 8pm

    Live tbc tournament coverage

    8pm – 9pm – Ask the Expert

A poker hand reading hour – Asking Tikay to analyse and guess hands using our wildly popular masking feature. Send in your choice hand i.ds for this and we'll have some fun. (Remember fom TV icon games only please, and please state which game it's from)

    9pm – 10pm - Sky Poker School

Tonight's topic: Managing a large chip stack in MTTs.

    10pm – 11pm

Live coverage from the 6K Open

    11pm – Midnight – Master Cash

Live action from the Master Cash tables

So, let's get this thread started!

As usual, I have a Sky Poker main event seat to give away to the best thread post/email (skyopen@bskyb.com) or tweet (hashtag
skypokertv) and, other than your usual excellent input i.e. poker hand requests, questions and banter, here's what we're looking for...

This incredible photo of sunrise on the planet Mars blew my mind today. The fact that we've got a man-made object on there to take the photo is incredible. We've come a long way in a few decades.

This got me thinking about technology. So...

What's the best gadget/machine/piece of technology you've ever used?

It could be anything from that humble tin opener that you thought just got the job done really nicely or your childhood ZX81 right the way up to some state-of-the-art supercomputer or satnav that you have these days and that you just couldn't function without.

    And, while we're at it...

What piece of equipment have you used that was a complete dog?!

Get your stories, opinions and thoughts on technology over to us and I'll read them all out on Tuesday night, starting from 7!

    good evening gentlemen

have a lovely, ranty show lol

dont think we should have anything on mars...  congrats to the happy couple...  the most ground breaking technology was the telegraph but we have far outgrown that one so i must say my ipad is tops and the nono (hair removal system) is at the bottom of the pile cos it is useless  and is about to be sent back.

    onwards and upwards :-)

You're just asking for the conspiracy theorists to come along here Rich and debate whether they are actually pictures from Mars or indeed if we've even been on the moon ;)  ....silly people.

    Best Technology
Probably a bit textbook but it surely HAS to be the internet, the ability to access any music/videos you want, buy things much cheaper than pre-internet etc and without it, we wouldn't have brilliant things like the Sky Forum where I'm sure we've all met some very good friends.

Good evening gentlemen. I trust you are both keeping well.

Richard, as Sky Poker's resident timed tournament expert I would like to seek your advice: Considering the prevailing attitude amongst most players, do you think that the best way to play in timed tournies is simply to lock-up and play only premium and near-premium hands?

Since there is so much limping, I frequently find myself going bust by shoving with junk trying to claim the dead money, telling myself that since my opponents have limped they mustn't be willing to play for stacks. Inevitably many of these players call with hands they probably should be folding... but their junk beats my junk.

On the face of it the answer is simple - play tighter - but since you're always pretty short-stacked in these tournaments, if there are 4 limpers in front of you and you have 15BB or so, it's incredibly tempting to shove to claim those chips. Even if you're holding 72 you're unlikely to be dominated when called. However, my results when employing these tactics have been quite poor so do you think it's better to simply play super-tight, since your fold equity is almost zero regardless of stack sizes?

Of course Tikay's input is also very welcome.

Crack open the champagne, Richard: Somebody is genuinely seeking your advice on the pokerz!

    :-O

What's the best gadget/machine/piece of technology you've ever used?

From childhood to the present day, it has to be the modern aeroplane. Just amazing how basically a very heavy lump of metal can fly through the air. (cue Tikay with a 'did you know' tale)

What piece of equipment have you used that was a complete dog?!

This would be a Dr Who Meccano set, which when fully assembled, was his best friend!

A question for both. How far do you think space exploration will be in the year 3000?

What's the best gadget/machine/piece of technology you've ever used?

A mobile phone i am lost without it when i go out with freinds and leave my phone at home i fell i have lost an arm lol

What piece of equipment have you used that was a complete dog?!

The thing where u have a bottle openener tin opener a wine bottle opener all in 1 i think there was a waste of money to invest it buy them all seperate and costs cheaper and i can open bottles of beer with a lighter so thats cheaper anyway :)

Best peice of technology have i ever used.

Simply i'd have to say my computer. The amount that i have learnt and achieved with just minor aid from a box with a load of microchips is phenominal.

Peice of equipment thats complete dog?

Well i used to be a porter in my local NHS hosptial but part of that was to often help out the cleaning staff, This meant we had to be trained clearers, and quite simply the worst machine i've ever used was on that training. The Buffer. When used correctly i guess its not too bad, but never have i seen a machine that just craves to annoy people who are learning to use it. "steady does it" says my superviser. Straight after that little buffing machine scoots across the hall squeeking as it goes, it was just laughing at me.

Hi guys nice to have the old double act back,

Can I just say another thanks to Tikay for changing my "Iffy alias" a few months back, as I wouldnt have had my play analysed for an hour the other night by Jen & Adam, without his help.

For Jen to call me " Our Hero" was the best, better than you know what.
When Anna said the name with a smile on her face, I couldn't concentrate on the poker. Sorry Rich but when you say it, nice but just not the same :-)

As far as Technology - Simples - Electricity

The meter ran out the other day & for 6 hours until my daughter got home I realised how much we rely on something that we cant even see.

    Have a great show guys

    Mike

Right- we need YOUR hands NOW!

Tonight- from 8pm we'll be doing a whole hour of the hidden masked hands and getting Tikay and msyelf to guess the opponents' cards.

Really good hands like this take a long time to find and that's where we need you. Can you look through your hand history and pick out one or two hands which you think would be brilliant talking-points and, more importantly, lend themselves to having either yours or one of your opponents' cards covered so we have all have to guess what they had?

It can be any Mastercash table or main or mini MTT from the past couple of weeks.

Simply tell us which game the hand is from and give us the hand i.d. number. Don't tell us what the cards were though, as I don't want to read it before I guess on air! If you have a question relating to the hand e.g. should I have value-bet more? Should I have folded on the flop? etc etc then by all means, fire away!

Stick your hand i.d.s on here or email them to skyopen@bskyb.com.

    Cheers!

No hands Im afraid, dont play on TV tables :(

Best bit of technology: smartphones and free wireless - means I can do pretty much anything and access anything from my PC whereever I am (nice to be able to watch over your house with the cctv app when on holiday etc)

Worst: satnav...or in particular the sat nav that claimed it could cover europe but managed to send me down a mile long single track dead end lane in a village about 20 miles outside Paris. Not a fan of satnav in general tho

evening guys i too was amazed and taken back by the whole robotic dog on mars that cost billions of dollars to get there just to take a snap shot of well nothing! I stayed up from 3am and watched the whole landing live from mission control it was extremely exiting and think the only reason i watched was to see there faces when it failed misurably. But it didnt and its a wonder of our time, Im sure if they discover life existed in bacteria format then they will package it and make a new type of yukult drink. They plan to put men on mars and i can see the world series of poker going to a whole new level and calling it the 'worlds' series.

I just bought a new gadget yesterday which is really handy its a baseball cap with a line of LED lights in the peek of the cap its great for wearing in the dark as you can see everywhere with no hands but im not sure the peek isnt usful in the dark as its used to keep the sun out of your eyes errrrrrr but i likes it anyways and it looks cool when wearing it with the lights on something right out of a science fiction series.

Worst Gadget is prob every single JML product ive bought that looks amazing in the videos but are actualy pants in reality.

Gl in the show tonight Mr Orford and Mr Kendal ill be watching with my Flash Cap on :)

Best piece of gadgetry has to be my computer. Banking, shopping, keeping in touch with and getting in touch with lost friends and family and actually increasing my knowledge  about all sorts of things. Last but not least also a  small income from Sky poker and meeting some great people. Take away my computer and god knows what I would do.
Worse gadget the salad spinner! anyone remember that?
